“Cam,” she whispers, making my eyes move down to her lips now. The tension in the room is palpable now. The energy is spiking.
“Yeah, Lex,” I say as my eyes move between hers and her mouth, just waiting for her to give any indication that she wants me to kiss her. I can feel that she does, but I’m not going off of feelings this time. I want a clear indication that she is okay with me devouring her mouth.
Our breaths are mixing together in the war of our energies. My hands move slowly up her arms, over her shoulders to grasp the nape of her neck on either side. I see the visible shiver that runs up her body and her breaths quicken even more than they were.
“I do trust you,” she says, staring in my eyes but then slowly they move back to my mouth. I can’t take it anymore. I need to know. I need to feel how soft her lips are and how sweet she tastes, like Shayna tells me she does.
“Good,” I say as my head tilts slightly and my lips barely graze hers. Her eyes slowly flicker closed like she’s just giving into the feeling. I open my mouth and use my teeth to nip at her bottom lip pulling it a bit. Letting my tongue lick where I just bit, I run it along the seam of her lips. When her lips part slightly, I gently invade her mouth allowing my tongue to taste and twist with hers.
My thumbs stroke her cheeks for just a second, until they are moving to below her jaw to tilt her head up as I deepen the kiss. I feel her hands tighten on my forearms. My cock is now rockhard, pressing against the zipper in jeans. Just tasting her and feeling her soft lips and sweet tongue, makes me want to go feral. But I can’t push her. When she moans into the kiss, I pull back slightly. I don’t pull too far from her, as I give her a little peck on the lips before I stand up straight.
Her eyes flutter open as her body sways, like she’s drunk. I give a little chuckle as I use one of my thumbs to wipe the saliva from below her lip from our kiss. She looks up at me, with her dilated pupils and I bring that thumb to my mouth and suck the evidence from it. My eyes never leave hers. Her eyes widen as she watches me do this. A wicked smile curves the edge of my lips. I know exactly how I can play this tonight.
“Let’s go eat before I find something in here to snack on,” I say, giving her a little wink. She releases a quick laugh, making me give her a crooked smile, but we still don’t move. I lean down and give her another sweet little peck on her lips before fully pulling back. “And no more talk of leaving, got it?” I say as my hands drop from the nape of her neck. She gives me a sweet smile, one that I rarely see on her.
“I got it,” she replies with a smile and we both head out of her room, to the kitchen.
CHAPTER 12
Shayna
Friday evening
Ican hear Lexi and Cam laughing from the living room and it puts a smile on my face. The boys are spending the weekend at friends' houses. Placing the last glass from dinner in the dishwasher, I close it up and start it. Making everyone a drink, I head into the living room with them.
“Thanks, Shay,” Lexi says when I hand her a glass of wine, then sit on the couch next to Cam. The couches are in an L shape, and Lexi and my legs are close enough to touch. Camden takes the glass of Jack Daniels and Coke from me, giving me a kiss on my neck just below my ear.
The room is uncharacteristically quiet, except for the low music in the background. Hear Me Now by Bad Wolves play from Camden’s playstation. The song always makes me smile, making me think of Lexi every damn time. I give a little chuckle as the part comes up about never knowing we’d be more than friends. Lexi looks at me inquisitively, wondering why I’m laughing.
“Nothing. It’s just this song,” I say and she sits and listens for a minute and I can see when she realizes, because the blush rises on her cheeks. Cam tosses his arm over the back of the couch behind me and crosses his leg, resting his left ankle on his right knee.
“So… are we going to talk about the elephant in the room?” he asks, bringing his drink up to his lips taking a sip. Lexi looks down at her drink and hands in her lap. I wonder what she thinks he’s talking about. It could be Jason, or she and I kissing, or possibly the kiss they shared not too long ago. Yes of course, Cam told me about it. But she doesn’t know that.
“Okay then. I guess I will start,” I say and look over to Lexi. She doesn’t look up at me. “We said once Cam came home we would talk about this. So just to set your mind at ease…” I pause and look at Camden, and he has his handsome crooked smile on his face looking back at me. “Baby, please tell Lexi that you are okay with her and I having something on the side.”
When the words leave my lips, Lexi’s head shoots up looking at Camden and I. Her mouth pops open but nothing comes out. I don’t think she expected me to be so blunt about it. But then again, when have I ever not said what was on my mind at the time.
“That’s not… wait a minute… what?” she stammers over her words making me smile even more. Camden furrows his brow, resting his glass on his thigh. I know he’s playing around and she should as well, but she’s so caught up in the moment worried she’s stepped over a line.
“What’s not what, Lex?” he asks. “Did you or did you not kiss my wife?” he asks leaning back casually with one single brow raised.
Her mouth is opening and closing like a fish out of water. She honestly doesn’t know what to say. Her eyes keep bouncing fromme to Cam. But after a few minutes, I smack the back of my hand in Camden’s stomach.
“Stop. She thinks you’re serious,” I say sternly and he laughs.
“Sweet girl,” he says, looking at her softly. “All I want is for my wife to be happy and if being with you brings her happiness, then I’m all for that.”
I finally look back to Lexi and I can tell she’s processing what he just said. I sit my wine glass on the table and lean forward placing my hand on her knee, rubbing my thumb soothingly.
“See. I told you he was okay with it. Now, you just need to be okay with it,” I say.
Her eyes bounce from him to me over and over. I sit back, giving her a moment to process everything.
“I honestly don’t know, Shay. I’m confused as hell right now,” she says. My body goes cold. Does she not want me? My eyes downcast as I clasp my own hands in my lap. I’m feeling a bit insecure at the moment. Maybe I read everything wrong.
“We’re not trying to pressure you, Sweet Girl. We only want you to know we’re here when you’re ready,” Camden says. Always like him to pick up on my thinking and knowing my body language. And I wonder if she heard what he said when he used the word ‘we’. I look up at her through my lashes, hoping to see something from her.
Lexi’s eyes slowly lift to mine. I wish I could read her mind. She seems to be processing everything we’ve said. Suddenly, I see it cross over her face and she leans forward sitting her glass on the table. She’s now leaning her elbows on her knees looking at me, and Cam subtly nudges my leg with his thigh. Not enough to be noticed but I felt it. Her eyes focus on mine.
