“Well, damn. Women and the aesthetics shit is wild to me. My sisters are into shit like that.” He laughed, tugging at his beard.
Dre made his way around to my side of the car.
“Come on.” He reached for my hand. I put my hand in his and stepped out.
“You are a sight for sore eyes,” he said while he looked me up and down.
“Thank you, baby.” I blushed.
“You’re more than welcome.”
We made our way from the parking lot to the inside of the winery. It was grandiose, to say the least. Shelves were lined with several bottles of various wines. It smelled delicious, like the best coastal dishes were being cooked. There was a huge window in the dining area that allowed for a stunning view of the vineyard. It was all so beautiful, and it all overwhelmed me in a good way.
“This place is gorgeous.” I held on to his arm, nestling my head alongside it.
“Just like you.” He took my face and lifted it, then kissed my lips. We were so caught up in the moment that we didn’t hear the hostess greeting us.
“Ahem. Excuse me.” The hostess cleared her throat. “How are you today?” She swept one side of her hair behind her ear, blushing.
“Yeah, sorry about that. We’ve never been here before, but I know we want to try different wines and have lunch out in the vineyard.”
“Well, you’ve come to the best place to do that. I can get you set up with a vineyard tour, and that comes with a generouslypoured wine flight. Would you like to have lunch before or after the tour?”
“Lunch before is fine.” He spoke up, so I didn’t have to.
I loved how he took the lead. The hostess walked us to a table near the window so we could take in the view. We both sat down and grabbed the menus.
“I’ll order for us both, if you don’t mind,” he asserted.
I swore, everything he did turned me on.
“That’s completely fine with me, babe.”
“Good. When I’m out with my woman, I never want her to even have to think about anything other than enjoying our time together.”
“Your woman, huh?” My eyebrow raised. “Is that something we both agreed to?” I asked, taking a sip of the infused water the hostess brought back.
“Shit, I thought we established that after the time we’ve spent together over the last couple of weeks.”
“Ask me, Dre. Don’t just go assuming like you told me earlier, remember?” I smirked.
“Lyra, I want you to be my woman,” he said in all seriousness.
I giggled a little on the inside. “I said ask.”
“Lyra, will you be my woman?”
“Yes, baby. I will.” My heart fluttered.
He grabbed my hands and lifted them to his lips, kissing them.
A few minutes passed, and our server came to our table to greet us, then took our orders. While the server talked to Dre, I looked out the window, continuing to take in the view and relish in the fact that I was now someone’s woman—his woman.
I discovered that if a man wanted to be with someone, there was nothing that could stop that, especially if the attraction and connection were mutual.
“What can I get for you, ma’am?” the server asked politely, looking at me.
Dre proudly interjected. Butterflies took over my stomach because he was seriously about to order for me.
