He nods. “That sounds like a good idea. Just don’t pushyourself too far. Even I think Alora smells divine during her heat, so I can only imagine what it does to alphas.”

“I’d love to tell you I’ll be perfectly fine, and if it were another omega, I might be. With Alora? I just don’t know how I’m going to react.” I chuckle as I push open the door and hold it for Jordan. “But I’m going to do my best to be okay, so I can get us all there in one piece.”

“And if you can’t, then you have me for backup. It would be better if you’re able to handle it though, since you probably know where the hell you’re going, and I don’t. Plus, your roads are not as well-lit as back in the States.”

Luckily, the trunk is still open, so we drop the bags into it before slamming it shut. My eyes immediately go to the backseat, where Alora is straddling Wells. I can’t quite tell if they’re fucking, but it sure as hell looks like it.

“That’s going to be distracting.”

Jordan snorts. “You think? Are you sure you don’t want me to just drive?”

I take a deep breath and shake my head. “No, I need to do this for her.”

Without waiting for a response, I move to the driver’s side door and swing it open. Alora’s fall leaves scent hit me smack in the face, and I take a half step backward before jumping into the car and slamming the door.

My cock is hard and throbbing behind the zipper of my pants, and I really don’t know if I’m going to be able to drive us to the heat center.

I don’t want anyone else besides her pack smelling how damn good she smells right now.

Because her scent is so heavy in the air, I’m able to pick out notes I couldn’t before. There’s a hint of cinnamon, apple, and pecan.

This is why it reminds me so much of fall—because of these more subtle notes.

Damn, I’d forgotten how good omegas smell when they’re close to their heats—not that any of them have ever smelled as good as Alora does right now.

My eyes find the rearview mirror, and now that I’m inside the car, it’s easy to tell that theyarefucking.

Fuck. What I wouldn’t give to be Wells right now.

I take another deep breath, intending to clear my head, but all it does is suck more of Alora’s scent into my lungs.

Well, that was a mistake.

“Are you good?” Jordan asks quietly as he climbs into the passenger seat. “I can drive if you need me to.”

“No, I’m good. I just need to remember that taking deep breaths isn’t the way to go currently.” I chuckle, knocking the car into gear and pulling away from the hotel.

Glenmore doesn’t have much traffic on a regular day since most of its residents prefer to walk when they can, but with it being late evening, there are no other cars on the road.

It’s been so long since I’ve been anywhere near the heat center that I don’t know if there will be any traffic when we reach it, but considering I’m skilled at driving in LA traffic now, I think I’ll be fine. Plus, the chances of that area growing that much over the last five years seem low.

There just aren’t enough children being born to make up for those dying, so it feels like my country is slowly dying.

But it’s not just Scotland. This is happening all around the world.

“Yes!” Alora screams, and my hands squeeze the steering wheel hard enough it squeaks under my hold. “I’m coming. I love you, Wells.”

She moans and pants, the sound of skin slapping againstskin growing louder as the alpha chases his release. With a grunt, he comes, and the car goes silent.

“Maybe we should turn on some music.” Jordan leans over and flicks on the radio before glancing into the backseat. “She’s out for now, but who knows how long that’ll last.”

I nod because that’s a damn good idea. I need as few distractions as possible since I already have the biggest distraction of all in the backseat. Once we’re out of town, I crack my window to let some fresh air into the car.

It doesn’t eliminate her scent—and I don’t want it to—but it makes it a little less distracting.

My cock is still hard, but it no longer feels like it’s going to drill straight through my pants. It’s a win I’m going to take.

Now, I just need to make it through the next forty-five minutes without crashing my car.
