“Damn, somebody’s got a pep in their step.”

“Hmm, I wonder why.” I giggled as he continued to kiss along my neck. “Stop, Jabari. I’m going to be late for work.”

“I just can’t get enough of you, Amina.”

I turned around and faced him. “Enough of me or enough of her?” I patted my honeypot.

His face went stiff, and the mood had changed. He stepped away from me.

“What?” I asked with a nervous chuckle.

“You really think that?”

“Jabari—”

He held his hand up to cut me off. “You really think all I want from you is because of what is between your legs? Damn, I must not be doing what the fuck I’m supposed to do so you don’t think that.”

“No. It’s not like that. I was just kidding.”

Jabari shook his head. “Don’t play like that. I want you to know something. I’m feeling you bad. Outside of all that other shit, you’re something special. You light up the room when you walk in that motherfucker. You just need to know that. Once you realize that you’re the shit, and you realize you have more to offer than what you think, shit for you will be a lot easier.”

He reached for my hand and kissed it.

“You need to know I see you. I see all of you, and I’m feeling you because of that. There’s no other reason. Don’t ever play likethat with me tho’. I’ll keep this dick from you ’til you learn your lesson.”

I laughed. “I got you.”

“Now, give me a kiss so I can get you to work before I make you call out.”

I grinned like a silly schoolgirl but did as I was told. He slapped my butt and wrapped me in his arms.

“I’ll see you tonight. Do you want me over here, or do you want to come over?”

“It doesn’t matter.”

“I’ll be here tonight. Your bed is comfortable as fuck. I see why you missed that shit.”

I laughed. “Alright. I’ll see you tonight.”

He kissed me and went to grab JaBria off the couch. I waited at the door for them, and he kissed me again.

“Hmm… can’t get enough of your sweet kisses. See you later, baby.”

“See ya.”

I waited ’til the two of them got in the car and drove away before I shut the door. I squealed and jumped at how Jabari had me feeling. I didn’t know why this man had been sent to me, but I was thankful he was.

I hummed as I did my rounds. My vibe was on cloud ten, and I was feeling myself. My morning had started amazingly, and my shift had followed the same pattern, which meant my night was going to be even better, especially when I ended it in Jabari’s arms.

I was on my way to the break room to retrieve my lunch when I walked by a patient’s room. I could see that the call light was on, and it had not been addressed yet. I softly knocked and announced that I was walking in. When I walked into the room, an older gentleman was lying on the table, throwing up in a bag. He looked at me, and his eyes showed exhaustion. I quickly ran, gloved up, and went to assess the situation.

“Hi, sir. I’m Nurse Amina. How long have you been throwing up?”

He shrugged.

“Okay, sir. Lie back. I’m going to get you some fluids going and try to control the vomiting,” I instructed.

All he could do was nod.
