The room empties out quickly, and I make my way to my room to shower before going to see Ivory. We need to have a long talk, and it can’t wait.

CHAPTER 23

GLITTER

“If you ever step foot inBoulder City again, we’ll make you disappearpermanently.Consider this your only warning.”

I lift my chin in acknowledgment but don’t respond to Malice’s threat. Mark sneers at me as he tosses my things at my feet. They stand side by side with their arms crossed, watching my every movement. Wrapping my arm around my waist, I wince as I bend over to grab my purse and the small bag of my belongings.

I hobble to my car, groaning as I climb inside and start the engine. I pull out of my spot and leave the clubhouse behind. The garage door closes with finality as I exit the side of the mountain.

Glancing in the rearview mirror, I’m not surprised at the face looking back at me. One eye is completely swollen shut, blood drips from my nose, and bruises mar the side of my face. It hurts to take a deep breath. Luckily for them, I don’t think anything is broken.

They fucking beat me!

They could’ve killed my baby. Spike only agreed with Soul and the others because he was afraid they’d kick him out of the club. He loves me, I know he does. This is all that stupid bitch’sfault. Ivory’s a fucking liar who turned the entire club against me.

They have no idea what I’m capable of.

“I’ll fucking show them.” I cradle my stomach as I drive. “Don’t worry, Daddy will see how much we love him. That homewrecking cunt will be on the receiving end next time. I’ll be welcomed back with open arms, and everyone will be so consumed with guilt for the pain they caused me.”

I should go to the police and have them tear apart the clubhouse.

But I can’t. This is just a test. It has to be. It’s a test of loyalty. They want me to prove that I’m tough enough to handle being a biker’s old lady.

Spike knows Ivory’s too soft for this life. I’ll show them how tough I can be.

I hit the highway with a plan formulating.

“I’ll fucking show them all.”

CHAPTER 24

IVORY

“Ivory, some big mean-looking guy is at the counter looking for you.”

My head snaps up to see Jackie standing in the doorway. Megan unlocks the side drawer in her desk and pulls out her gun, clicking off the safety. We both know how to shoot and handle guns, and Megan even has her concealed carry permit. She’s been begging me to get mine, but I always refuse. I kinda wish I didn’t, but I never thought I’d need a weapon at work.

Megan stands. “What’s he look like?”

“Shoulder-length dirty blonde hair, beard, and tattoos and muscles everywhere,” Jackie informs us, her eyes wide. “Jeremy’s threatening to call the cops if he doesn’t leave. I came back here to warn you. He doesn’t look like someone who should be messed with.”

“I told Skye to leave it alone,” I mumble, rising to my feet. “I’ll take care of it.”

“You sure, Ivory?” Jackie asks. “Jeremy was handling it.”

Megan smirks, putting her gun away. “I don’t think cops would scare Spike away.”

“I’ll handle him.” I gesture to the chair in the corner. “Take a break for a few minutes.”

“Do you want me to come with you?” Megan asks.

I wave her off. “No, I need to deal with this once and for all.”

“Yell if you need me,” she calls.

Spike and Jeremy are in a standoff when I come around the corner into the waiting area.
