Leaving the bathroom, I don't look back into the garage where the prisoner is to see what they're doing now; my job here's done, and I want to get back to my family and fill Wrath in on what I found out.
Arriving back at The Clubhouse, I quickly walk to the bar as I need a drink. Glancing around, I'm happy to see that they've either all listened to what Wrath said earlier or Shadow lit a fire up their collective asses.
“What can I get you?”The Prospect behind the bar asks.
“Just a bottle of water, please,”I reply.
He quickly grabs one from the fridge and passes it to me. Grabbing it and getting up to leave, I'm stopped in my tracks when Snake steps in front of me. I just stand there, waiting. Snake's one of the members I like the least. We've never seen eye-to-eye. He has a giant snake tattoo working its way up the side of his neck, which is why he got his road name. Personally, I just think he's a snake, and it's nothing to do with his tattoo.
“What the fuck is going on around here, Flame? What's with the new fucking rules and Shadow throwing the new bunny out earlier?”Snake questions me like he has the right. He really doesn't, though.
“Get out of my way, Snake. I don't answer to you.”I state as I move to step around him.
He grabs my arm, once again stopping me.
"No, we want fucking answers, and we want them now!”Snake shouts in my face.
Without saying a word, I break his grip on my arm, spin him around, and place my arm around his neck.
“You are not and never will be an Officer of this club; you don't get to demand shit from me. You also should know better than to put your hands on me. Now run along and get back in your fucking lane.”I say in a deadly voice.
I release him with a shove, causing him to fall to the floor while gasping for breath. Saying nothing to anyone, I walk out of the room and go to the infirmary. I definitely need to mention what just happened to Wrath and the other Officers; he could be our mole; his reaction to the changes just didn’t seem right to me, and normally he's not stupid enough to demand anything from me or put his hands on me.
Chapter Twelve
Wrath
Flame's been gone for about an hour now, and my Dad's just left to go to his room here in The Clubhouse wanting to grab some sleep but still be close by with Cam having to stay in here tonight. I don't blame him for wanting to be close just in case he's needed; all our worlds have been rocked today. Cam's not long fallen back asleep himself; his body clearly needs as much rest as possible to recover.
Pulling my phone out, I send a quick text to all the brothers that we'll be having Church tomorrow night at six. They all need to be made aware of Cam's arrival and our new enemy.
After sending this, I quickly call Tech, as I want him to do some research specifically on Claire to see if me and Flame are right about thinking she's behind the trouble we're having.
"Hey, Prez, what can I do for you?”
“Hey, can you get all the information possible on Claire McGivens and dig deep? Also, if you can find me a copy of Cameron McGivens' birth certificate too, that would be extremely helpful. Anything you find on Claire can be broughtup in Church tomorrow; there's no need to find me with it before then.”
“Sure, I'll set up searches on her now. Hopefully, it'll give us everything you're hoping for. As for the birth certificate, I'll see what I can find now, and I'll give you a call back. Does that work for you?”
“Yeah, that's good. Thanks, Tech. Talk soon.”
As I hang up, I hear the door open behind me. Turning my head, I can't help but smile when Flame enters. He might not have been gone long, but I still missed him.
“You weren't gone as long as I thought you would be,”I state as he walks towards me.
“No, hardly had to fucking do anything before he was singing what he knew. Some guy hired him to break in, cause damage, and attack anyone he found. Told him we'd hurt his woman, and she wanted payback. He's not from around here. He had no idea who he was dealing with.”He tells me as he takes a seat next to me.
"Great, another dead end.”I say, shaking my head,“I've spoken to Tech. He's setting his systems up to search everything on Claire now. I asked him to find a copy of Cam's birth certificate too. I'm interested to see if I'm named on it.”I tell him quietly.
Before he can speak, my phone rings, and it's Tech. That was fast.
“What did you find?” I ask as soon as I answer.
“I've got a copy of his birth certificate, and I think I know what you were looking for; you're listed as his father.”
“Get me a copy of that, then go grab some sleep.”
“Sure thing, Prez.”
