“Wow, this is for me?” Rana asks as we step out of the bus.
I nod, “Yep, for as long as you want it.”
“It's amazing,” she mutters in awe.
“Mom will have it completely stocked for you, but if you need anything that you don’t have, give her a call and she will get it dropped over to you,” Evander says.
“Thank you,” Rana says.
“Would you like me to show you around, or would you like to head in by yourself?” I ask.
She glances at me, “Would it be okay if I went in by myself?”
I nod and smile, “Of course, it is. How good is your memory?”
“Too good,” she replies with a frown. “Why?”
“If I tell you my number, will you remember? Or you could message Calia, and she will pass it along?”
She grins, “I’ll remember.”
I nod and reel off my number for her.
“Got it, I will give you a call as soon as I’ve got the information written down,” she says.
I nod, “Great, but you can just message if you want to talk as well. We’ll leave you to it.”
She waits until we’ve all gotten into the bus before she turns to look at the cabin.
“Do you think she’s going to be okay?” Raiden asks. “She’s been through a lot.”
I frown slightly, “I think she’s going to find it hard, but I think she will be okay. I just hope that she does reach out if she needs to.”
Griff nods and tries to suppress a yawn before he replies, “I’m sure that she will. Besides, you know Calia, she will find a non-invasive way to check on her.”
“She definitely will,” Van agrees. “Mom likes her, and I think she already feels a bit protective of her.”
“Good,” I reply. “That makes me feel a bit better. She will be fine if Calia is keeping an eye on her.”
The bus is silent for a moment as we make our way back to Calia and Eamon’s place.
“So, we’re going to work the wolf sales case?” Doc asks, looking at me curiously.
Chapter Eight
Neith
Inod, “Yeah, I think we need to. The Voices seemed to think that it was a good idea and that tends to mean that it’s something I need to do.”
“That makes sense,” River nods. “We can talk to Ty and let him know that we will be working on it.”
“It’s not like we have any real leads with the Blue Fucker, at least not that I’m aware of. I’m sure that Ty would have mentioned it before now if there were any,” Ransom says.
“That’s a good point. I mean to be honest, this is probably the best lead that we have had considering he tried to get the wolves to kill us, but Derek is dead, and he said that the Blue Fucker had cut all ties, so he most likely wouldn’t have been able to give us any information anyway,” Griff says with a slight frown.
“There might have been something in that mess of an office that could have at least helped us to get in contact with the Blue Fucker, but Merrikh did his fire awesomeness and turned everything into ash,” River adds with a grin.
“I checked Derek before I burned him, and he didn’t have a phone or anything on him, so he must have had his phone in the house somewhere,” I say.
