Then Aiden steps closer, offering me his hand. I take it and stand, because there’s no world in which I would refuse him. He lays me down on the rug in front of the fireplace, the heat drying my skin. Aiden leans down to kiss me, then enters me without warning, his thick cock filling me in one long thrust. My satiated nerves spark to life again as he takes my knees and lifts them.

I wrap my legs around his hips, then find his rhythm, a punishing, slow beat that builds with each stroke. Aiden is everywhere, his muscled body braced on powerful arms above me. His kisses follow the movements of his hips, drugging and seductive.

Then he looks in the direction of the couch and groans. “Oh, fuck.”

I follow his gaze, and my desire intensifies a hundredfold. Jack is spread out on the couch while Ty gives him a blow job. Ty’s head bobs up and down, but he’s also jerking his own cock, and the image is so potent, my second orgasm catches me by surprise.

I scream, my back bowing off the floor as light dances through my body. I grip Aiden tightly and pull him to me, anything to prolong this sensation of freedom.

He shouts his release, his hips slamming against mine, and empties himself inside me. I only faintly register a moan from Jack, then Ty’s breathless gasp as they find their second climaxes.

I close my eyes, my brain shutting down in the wake of so much pleasure. Aiden slips from me, then gathers me close, and we lie on the rug, sharing breaths with each other. It’s the perfect ending to a difficult day, and I don’t want to ruin it by moving.

A while later, strong arms pick me up, and I bury my face in Jack’s warm chest. He carries me to Aiden’s room, where we all pile in the bed together. It’s a tight fit with three large men, but I’ve never felt safer or more protected. More loved.

My last thought before sleep claims me is that I will do whatever it takes to protect them. To protect this new life I’ve built for myself despite all our differences.

“Hey, wake up.”I shake Aiden’s shoulder, then stroke Ty’s face gently. “Guuuys! You need to get your asses out of this bed and help me out.”

“Mmhhh,” Jack huffs, his head beneath the pillow. “Whass wrong?”

I sit on the edge of the bed and poke his big toe that’s poking from under the covers. “Nothing’s wrong. Today’s the day. We’re trying that spell.”

It’s the morning after, and I’m filled with restless energy. I’ve been up since five, when I woke in the deep darkness I never experienced in San Diego. On a cloudy night, without the moon or the stars, and especially without light pollution, the blackness is so deep, I didn’t dare go far from the Lodge when I let Princess Penny out to do her business.

Then I stoked the fire, wrapped myself in blankets, and got down to business. The spell might not function perfectly, not with some households still without internet, but Jack and Ty worked strategically, creating a good perimeter around the village. We can add the rest of the homes later, strengthening the spell. When the first light appeared through the east-facing windows, I finished the code I’d been working on for two full months.

To check whether the Wi-Fi was finally up, I plugged the username and password into my phone and found a cute cat video on YouTube.

Success!

“Comeon,” I urge the guys. “We have to try this today.”

My Pomeranian comes into the bedroom and lets out a series of short, staccato yaps.

“Good girl,” I tell her. “You’re better than any alarm clock.” I take a treat from my pocket and feed her a tiny bit while she prances daintily.

Aiden lifts his golden head from the pillow and glowers at me. “If you don’t get that dog out of my room right now, I swear I’ll eat her.”

I crouch down and pet Princess Penny, scratching her behind the ears. “Don’t listen to the grumpy man. You’re perfect.” To Aiden, I say, “I made you all coffee. If you’re not in the kitchen in five minutes, I’m dumping it down the drain and hiding the coffee beans.”

With that, I leave them to their own devices. Four and a half minutes later, I’m sitting at the breakfast table, sipping my latte, when the guys emerge, rumpled and sleepy-looking but very handsome. I sigh at the sight. When did I get so lucky?

Their mood improves with every bite of the pancakes I made them. By the time the last stack disappears from the platter, Ty is his normal, chatty self, Jack leans over to kiss me, and even Aiden sounds half-human.

“What was the rush?” Jack asks as he caps the maple syrup bottle. “It’s still really early.”

I place my palms on the table, excitement coursing through me. “The tech side of the protection spell is ready. I want to try putting it up tonight.”

“You’re not fully recovered,” Aiden says immediately. “We should wait until you’re back to full power.”

I anticipated this argument. “I was recovered enough for that sexfest last night,” I say. “I didn’t hear you complaining then.”

He scowls at me. “That’s not even remotely similar.”
