He pressed the accept phone call button on the steering wheel. “Hey, dude.”

“Hey.” Ian responded over the speaker. “Are you close?”

“Yep. I’m in the town square.”

“Okay. Go around the square, then take the road next to It’ll Grow Back salon and go five miles. We’re on the right. Red brick house, double garage. I’ll leave the porch light on.”

“It’ll Grow Back?” Gage asked.

“Yeah. It’s the local beauty shop. Where all the ladies gather to discuss everyone and everything in town. Welcome to a small town in the south. I’ll introduce you around once you’ve gotten some rest.”

“I actually already met someone.” Gage said, cruising the town square until he spotted the beauty shop sign and proceeding down the road next to it as Ian had advised.

“You did?” Ian questioned.

“Yeah. She said she knows you and Piper.”

“She?”

“Yep.”

Ian groaned. “Was it, Holly Grace?”

“Yes.” He responded and went on to explain the circumstances.

In the background, he heard a woman’s voice. Ian replied. “I’m talking to him now. He almost ran down Holly Grace and Grover out on the county road.”

As he heard Piper’s raised voice in the background, he couldn’t help but wonder if he would be the main topic of conversation at the It’ll Grow Back for the duration of his stay.
