“Sorry your evening was a bust,” Sunny murmured as I snuggled in against him. His hand cupped my little baby belly, and I smiled. I adored how Sunny constantly touched the baby; it showed me how much he loved us.

“It happens; we can’t have activity every night. That would be too far-fetched,” I replied.

“Yeah, but I hate you feeling let down.”

A yawn escaped me, and I shook my head. “No, I’m not disappointed. Regardless of what we’ve got up to now, we’ve plenty for a two-hour special.”

“Maybe even a three-hour one,” Sunny said as his eyes closed.

Peace reigned in the RV as we both fell into a sound sleep. It was such a shame we never saw the shadow figure watching us.

Chapter Six.

Callie - Thursday

“What are you suggesting then?” I asked the next day as I spoke with Harry.

“I don’t know, but I have found a social media post by the woman who claimed to have done an Ouija board here. She states she doesn’t believe the circle was closed down properly. She was local, so I reached out to her. Her name is Staci, and she’s coming here tonight to talk to us. Maybe we could even get her to show us where it happened,” Harry said.

“Okay. She is aware we’re being recorded, right? It’s possible to obscure her face from viewers, though, if we need to,” I suggested.

“Staci is fine with being filmed but says she won’t set foot back in The Penitentiary for love or money,” Harry replied.

“Well, that says something,” I murmured as my brain raced. “What time is she coming?”

“Eight o’clock and she’s bringing a friend who was also present,” Harry announced, and I nodded.

Great, two eyewitness accounts would go a long way in helping us. They should both know where the Ouija board happened.

“Nice. Let’s get breakfast, and then we’ll decide on a game plan. We might need a backup if they pull through,” I said.

“Why not keep the original? If they come through with a different cellblock that you intended to investigate this evening, change it around. So, if they say three and you planned tonight for ten and eleven, then swap three with ten, for example,” Sunny suggested.

“That’s the plan, babe,” I replied, smiling at him. “We need to be kitted out again. Something in my gut says there is a true demon wandering about in there.”

“You really believe it?” Jack asked.

“We’ve encountered demons before. Yeah, I think there’s one here. It’s almost like the same sliminess is embedded in the walls,” I mused as I considered The Penitentiary.

“Callum will be arriving tomorrow, and Michelle the day after,” Freddie stated as we entered the tour bus.

“That’s great news. I look forward to seeing them again,” I replied with a genuine smile.

“Michelle also says she has a proposition for you that she’ll discuss upon her arrival,” Freddie added, and I frowned.

“Okay.”

“It didn’t sound bad, Callie. Michelle sounded quite upbeat,” Freddie mentioned.

“We’ll see when she arrives,” I said, and Freddie nodded. I put the issue out of my mind. Tonight, we had visitors—and hopefully a lead on where the Ouija board was held. I mentally crossed my fingers.

“Hi, I’m Callie Dixon, and this is my husband, Sunny. I believe you know the team, and this is Levi and Madi, who are joining us on this investigation.”

“Hi! Grace and I are huge fans, so we’re familiar with everyone. It’s a real pleasure to meet you all,” Staci said. She was nervous, and the way she kept eyeing the forbidding building behind us concerned me. Staci was clearly scared of it. Grace didn’t look much better.

“Would you like to board the tour bus? You seem worried,” I said softly.
