She happily returned his sneer. “Tobias knows how to treat a lady.”

“You’re not a lady, Ashley,” his lips curled in one of the darkest smirks I’d seen, “you’re a whore, remember.”

That was a tad uncalled for. Not that I’d say anything to him. Carmine seemed like a safer companion right now.

“At least I’m not a willing whore,” she spat back at him and strutted away.

This Ashley girl either had the biggest set of brass balls a girl could have, or she just didn’t care. Perhaps there would be some allies in this place after all?

Liam stretched his neck and called out. “I’m telling Tobias you called him by name.”

Wait, was that a thing?

“Sorry about that.” He crossed his arms and settled back against the bench. “Now, where was I, before we were so rudely interrupted?”

My mouth opened to answer, but Ashley’s voice cut me off.

“Eat shit, Liam. I hope Gregor fucks you hard tonight.”

And just like that, the evil glare was back on his face.

“What the fuck did you just say to me bitch?”

“You heard me.”

I had so many questions. Where did Ashley come from? Was she a captive like me, or was she like Liam? Why did they hate each other? And who was Gregor?

None of which I got to ask, because Liam stood up and said, “That collar around your neck guarantees one thing. If you disappeared, Enzo would find you.”

After that, he took off, yelling obscenities.

My mind was a whirlwind as I stared off in the direction he went. I’d never been more confused in my life. Not only did I have no idea what happened, but four words kept replaying in my head.

‘Enzo would find you.’

The soft clicking of high priced shoes echoing in the distance snapped me out of my stunned state. He was coming. Like the devil summoned by a spell, my thoughts seemed to draw my captor near. Did he know I was here?

Maybe I could hide somewhere? There were plenty of plants, and I was small. Lorenzo’s booming voice cut that idea off before I even started looking.

“What were you doing with Liam?”

As shameful as it was, my heart flipped when he came into view.

Why did he have to look so good? I mean, he always looked good, but I knew things now that I didn’t the day before. Like how soft his lips were, and the sculpted mass of muscle he was hiding under that suit.

“I asked you a question, Pet.”

I also knew how insistent and demanding he was.

“We were talking,” I sighed.

“Uh huh.” His ice blue glare narrowed in on me. “Just talking?”

“Yes.”

Jeez. Did he think Liam was going to rape me or something? Wait… I looked back in the direction Liam took off. Was he going to rape me?

Lorenzo lifted his hand and waved me over. “Come here.”
