Harlow’s head was in Rico’s lap and her legs covered mine.
After our shower, we changed the sheets and climbed in bed with one thing in mind, making sure Harley was good.
That wasa lot.
More than me or Christian expected, and I was so fucking proud of her for how well she took it.
But we still needed to check in. To see how she was holding up after the adrenaline faded and reality set in.
The soft smile on her face while Rico massaged her scalp set my mind at ease.
I massaged her calves without prompting, moving as high as the back of her thighs before coming back down.
She was fucking unreal. And tonight, my mind visited the land of delusion when Christian came for her.
I knew she was on birth control, but I still imagined one of us getting her pregnant and watching her grow with our child.
A baby with her dimples and Christian’s eyes flashed across my mind.
One day.
During one of our talks, she made it clear that she wasn’t against being a mom. She just didn’t want it right now.
I respected that.
But if she ever changed her mind…
“Soul!”
All three of my loves chorused.
Damn it. I zoned out.
Harlow was sitting up with her legs still thrown across me but concern wrinkling her forehead.
Rico had his head cocked.
And Christian was standing beside the bed with the plate of cupcakes we never got to earlier tonight.
“You good?” he wanted to know.
I nodded as Harley’s hand grasped my chin. “Are you sure? What were you thinking about?”
“Our future.”
She flushed at my words and those dimples deepened.
I only broke eye contact when Christian passed the plate of cupcakes to me.
Harlow grabbed one, locking eyes with us before she took a bite.
“You have no idea how much I love you.” Her soft gaze moved from Christian to me to Rico. “This birthday meant everything to me.”
Smirking, Rico kissed her temple. “It’s just the beginning, baby.”
Not Enough
