“Oh, love,” Austen cooed, pinching his stubbled cheek. “I think Dane hates Thayer more than I do.”

“Damn straight, I do.” Dane stewed, his fists balling. “Part of me still wants to find out where he lives. Get a group of the boys together, and—”

“Hell yeah,” Reavo said. “I’m in! Let’s do it.”

“Don’t encourage him, Reavo!” Austen yelled. And to put an end to the psycho talk, Austen patted Dane’s cheek as if she were trying to wake him from a deep slumber. “Hey. Dane. Listen to me:no. Not worth it. Okay? Thayer already got his comeuppance. Career and reputation ruined. Let’s not go and ruin yours, too, okay?”

He gnashed his teeth. “Grrrr.”

“I know, I know. You’re very protective of me and I love that about you.”

“It doesn’tfeellike I’m protecting you, when that creep is still walking—”

Austen silenced him with her lips. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her deeply, his hands pawing at her sides, at her tummy.

“Dane,” she whispered, “we’ve got guests.”

But the guests got the message. Reavo made an excuse about why he had to leave, and the others all suddenly rememberedtheyhad to leave, too.

Dane and Austen thanked everyone and said their goodbyes.

Then the newly weds were alone.

“Dane,” she whispered.

“Yeah?”

“We live together now,” she said.

“Sure do,” he answered, smiling so big.

She bit her lip. “I have something to tell you.”

“What’s that?” he asked.

A year or two ago, Austen wasn’t sure if she wanted kids—her career was so important to her, it was hard to imagine how kids could possibly fit into her life. But Dane always talked about someday getting married, and someday having kids—not begging or pestering Austen. He just likedtalkingabout it. Throwing the idea out there. It was something he wanted! And the more he talked about it, the more she realized she wanted kids, too. And now that she was in charge of her own schedule? Hell, she couldn’t stop thinking about babies for the past year.

She leaned closer, to whisper into her husband’s ear and sneak a hand under his swimming trunks.

“I stopped taking the pill.”

His cock began to firm and lengthen in her hand almost immediately.

“Yeah?” Dane panted. “You did?”

“You’re going to be an amazing daddy,” she whispered, her breath hot on his ear as she stroked him. “I want your cum inside me, Dane.”

The hockey player groaned with desire and kissed Austen with scorching lust—until a loudcrash suddenly interrupted the moment. The lovers parted, turning to face the house. It sounded like glass breaking inside.

“What the hell was that?” Dane asked as he hopped out of the pool. Austen followed him, shielding herself in the protection of his large frame.

They stepped foot into the kitchen and saw the crime scene.

A broken vase, shattered into a million pieces on the kitchen floor.

And Bad Cat, proudly rummaging around among the broken bits of porcelain, until he realized he’d been caught.

“Ba~ad Ca~at!” Austen whined.
