“Xavier? Mom?” Ayzo asked, taking a step towards her.

“Don’t fucking move, Akeno.” Xavier said, pushing the gun against Denice’s head.

His hands flew up as he took a step back. My heart hammered in my chest as fear flashed in Addison’s eyes. What the hell was going on?

“Let me tell you boys a story.” Aunt Kim began. “Once upon a time, there was a girl who stood by her older brother’s side when he barely had two pennies to rub together. She helped build up a small territory int the northwest. It wasn’t much, but they were able to get by. Then one day, his wife decides to run away with every last penny. This caused the girl’s brother to spiral into depression for not only losing his wife, but for losing all of the hard working money he saved up for. So, his sister looked for her brother’s wife in hopes of getting their money back. You could imagine her surprise when she not only finds the woman a few years later drugged up, but with a son.”

My mouth became dry as I stared at my aunt. “W-what are you saying? Are you seriously saying that I have a little brother?”

She nodded before looking over at Luther. “Your mother got pregnant by her dealer whose name was Terrance, but everyone called him-”

“T.” Nicholas answered as he stared at a Latina woman stepping out of the side office.

“Hey, Nicolas. You look good.”

“You’re the bitch who shot my man?” Ashlynn spat, attempting to go towards Olivia, before Nicholas held her back.

Olivia smirked as she winked at them. “That’s cute.”

“Anyways,” My aunt Kim continued. “Your mother gave birth to Luther two years after she abandoned you. The last time I saw her, she was doped out crying because she wanted to come back home with her family. Your dad offered to bring her back if she stopped using, but she never did. Her drugs were more important and she overdosed. When I told your dad about Luther, he didn’t want to hear it.”

“Lies!” I spat. “My father is all about family and you know that!”

“Call him and ask! Luther was not his blood, and he didn’t care what happened to him. If it wasn’t for me, your brother would’ve died on those streets!”

I shook my head. “Why should I believe yall?”

Luther stepped closer to me and my eyes landed on his Cobra tattoo. The date October 10thstood out to me causing me to gasp. Another date, January 9thcaused my heart to drop.

“Why do you have my mother’s birth date and the day she died tattooed on you?” I whispered.

Luther smirked at me. We both knew that answer. My head spun as I stared at him. How could this be? Why didn’t anyone tell me?

“I was discarded like I asked to be brought into this life! I tried to become friends with you,” Luther explained, looking at Ayzo. “But you stabbed me in the back by taking my woman. I tried to become a Jaguar, but you, Seojun, didn’t even let me come talk to you.”

My eyes scrunched up. “What are you talking about? I don’t remember you coming to see me. If I had known-”

Luther burst out into laughter. “And that’s another reason your men betrayed you. You made sure all of the women were taken care of but didn’t give a damn about anybody else. I came to one of your massage parlors looking for you, but you were too busy. Hell, I went at least three times, but you were always too busy. So, I gave up and worked with my mother’s drug dealer, T. When I found out that nigga was my father, I wanted to throw up. I was so happy the day I got to kill him.”

I flinched. How could he kill his own father?

“Wait! I ran an entire group and you thought I had spare time? You should have kept trying to see me! Hell, it would’ve caught my attention faster if you came to my shop every single day and waited.”

Luther’s eyes darted over to Aunt Kim. “Mama K said if I kept bothering you, you’d ban me. Besides, she said y’all didn’t want me around anyway because I was only your half-brother.”

I glared at my aunt. “That is a lie! I wouldn’t have cared if you were my half, full, or quarter brother. You are still my brother.”

Luther’s shoulder slumped as guilt filled his eyes. I took a step toward him. Even though Luther had royally fucked up, he was my blood. Maybe we’d be able to move on from the past mistakes, but right now, everything he had been toldhis whole life was a lie. I’m sure if my father really knew about him, he wouldn’t have turned Luther away.

“Enough of this!” Aunt Kim shouted, shooting Luther in the leg.

“What the fuck?” he shouted, blood spraying on the ground.

“We had a damn plan, but here you are getting all sentimental! Did you forget that they didn’t want you? Did you forget that his father didn’t want you? Don’t be so weak!”

“That’s not true!” I shouted. “If I would’ve known, I would have accepted you.”

Aunt Kim threw her head back and laughed. “And my brother said you were a great leader? How pathetic. See, this is why I needed to run the Jaguars. I was always stronger and smarter, but your father wouldn’t even give me a chance. So, now I am taking it!”
