My eyes squinted as I glared at him. “You only fight old men and women? How fucking pathetic! You didn’t have to kill Dylan.”

Jerome shrugged. “He knew where y’all went but didn’t want to cooperate and let me through. So I pretended to leave and snuck around back. Thankfully, you had him turn those cameras off because he didn’t see me sneak up behind him on his cigarette break. Don’t worry, I made it quick. Anyway, as soon as I saw your fast ass all hugged up, I took a picture and sent it to my boss. He’s going to be thrilled!”

“You dumbass! Mr. L is probably going to kill you for leaving me unattended and not informing Bruno!!” Addison spat.

Jerome threw his head back and laughed. “That broke muthafucka is not my real boss. Mr. Omba is.”

“Who the fuck is Mr. Omba?” I asked, my patience growing thin.

“That’s Addison’s future husband. He’s worked with Mr. L for a while, but did not trust him to keep his beautiful untouched wife safe. So, here I am!”

“You yanked me by my hair and threw me to the ground! How the fuck is that keeping me safe?” Addison snarled.

“I’m done with this conversation.” Jerome snapped. “Addison, say goodbye to this nigga and I’ll escort you back to Bru–”

Before he could finish his sentence, I picked up the bottle that Addison had tripped on with the top of my foot. Kicking it high, I spun and kicked the bottle into Jerome’s face. His head dropped back before he fell to the ground unconscious. Not wasting a moment, I grabbed my phone out of my back pocket.

“Jay, I need you to take care of one more item.”

“Sure thing. Send the address and I’ll handle it.”

“Noneed. I’m outside the door. I’ll be there in 2 minutes.”

I disconnected the line before walking over to Jerome and throwing him over my shoulder. Addison stared at me with her mouth open.

“Yeobo, listen to me carefully. Take my car and head back to your hotel. Do not stop and chat with anyone, but grab all of your belongings. We don’t know how much time we have before any of Mr. L’s people try to come after you. I am going to help you, but I need you to do this for me.

I said, pulling my keys out of my back pocket. I pressed the start button to show her my car was just across the street. She exhaled and nodded as she took my keys and headed towards the car.

Chapter 26

Bruno (a.k.a.) Jackie

Istared down at my phone as I leaned against my car, huffing out a chuckle. I knew Addison was up to something. After spending months with her, there was never a time that she voluntarily went to a bar by herself. She knew better to text Jerome for a ride because he was the new guy and I would’ve caught on to some bullshit early on. So, I left him there to keep an eye on her while I headed to the airport. I wasn’t the least surprised by the pictures he sent. My phone began to ring causing me to quickly answer.

“Jackie, what is going on?” My boss, Mr. Omba, asked.

When I originally abandoned the Jaguars to be with Luther and the Cobras, I thought I was getting a great deal. Luther promised more money and all the pussy I wanted unlike Seojun’s strict no fraternizing rules. Imagine my disappointmentwhen all of the women that worked for Seojun disappeared. None of them crossed over which not only pissed me off but damn near everyman that became a Cobra. Luther did provide us women and men to use at our leisure, but we had to pay. If they were the Jaguar women, I wouldn’t have minded, but the ones that Luther brought us were bottom of the barrel. I’m talking junkies and old hoes that been ran through more than a public soccer field that doubled as a little league football field.

When Mr. Omba first came around, I couldn’t help but admire his work ethics. He was a man of his word and from chatting with a few of his employees during our drops, I liked his work ethics. It took awhile, but he finally gave me a chance to be apart of his crew. Since he didn’t know Mr. L very well, he had me making sure all of his purchases and shipments went smoothly. From the outside, they did, but I was there to tell him all of the mishaps that we ran into during the process. Finding Mr. Omba’s bride was Luther’s last chance to stay in business with us before all ties were cut.

“Sir, things don’t seem to be looking good. Mr. L doesn’t have a hold on shit out here especially not your future property.”

“That picture looked suspicious, but can easily be taken out of context.”

I snorted out a laugh. “I agree, but I’ve been around Addison long enough to know that she doesn’t want this deal to go through. So, if that means being a whore to get away from Mr. L, then I wouldn’t put anything pass her.”

Mr. Omba sighed heavily. “I was hoping things would work out for me. I really liked her.”

I rolled my eyes. How the hell this nigga liked her, but only seen her via pictures was beyond me. Addison was a good girl, but she had a nasty mouth on her. Mr.Omba wanted an obedient wife and she wasn’t it. I tried to warn that to him before, but once he saw her picture, he wasn’t listening.

“Look,” I said, pinching the bridge of my nose. “I won’t hold my breath with keeping Addison. If she’s already hugged up with some man, it’d only be a matter of time before she’s opening her legs for him. Then again, she may surprise us and go with the plan. Either way, I’ll keep an eye on her.”

I heard Mr. Omba exhale a breath of agreement. I opened my mouth to say something else when I saw Olivia walking out of the airport with her luggage.

“Mr. Omba, I have to go, but I will keep you updated with anything new.”

“Good.”
