“Em?” He looked at her.
“Seb?”
“Do you have condoms here?” he asked.
Emily took a second to process his words. “Oh, shit. Yes, condoms. They’re important,” Emily muttered.
Seb laughed. “Yes, they are,” he agreed.
“Wait, yes. I do,” she remembered. She pushed Seb up and stretched her body to open her bedside drawer. If she was correct, she kept a toiletry bag here for impromptu visits. It might have—
“Yes!” She thrust the box in the air in celebration, then took a couple of packets out.
“Wow! Little Miss Perfect wasn’t so perfect, huh?” Seb teased, looking at her with heat in his eyes.
“It’s not from when I lived here, idiot!” Emily said, sitting up. She looked at Seb again, his hair disheveled, his broad chest, his intense eyes looking deeply at her, and his dimple on the right cheek. She leaned forward and kissed his smile away. She explored his body with her hands, moving them down his chest, biceps, and abdomen until she reached his pants that were still on his body for some unknown reason.
She unbuttoned them and tried to pull them down, but failed. She could feel the hardness under the clothes, and she really needed to touch him.
Seb laughed in her mouth. “Wait, woman! You’re going to hurt little Sebastian,” he said.
Emily pulled back immediately. “Little Sebastian? I really, really hope that’s not a Parks and Recreation reference!” she said, scandalized.
Seb laughed again and got out of bed.
“You’re leaving?” Emily said, sounding devastated.
“No,” he said. “Undress.”
She got up and removed her dress. Then her bra, too. She moved to the other side of the bed and palmed Seb through his underwear.
“No, let’s leave that for next time. I need to be inside you. Now,” he said urgently, and Emily was completely on board. She lay down, and Seb put on the condom.
He climbed over her, spreading her legs to make room. “Ready?” he asked, angling himself right where Emily needed him.
“Yes!” Emily said.
Seb didn’t need to be told twice. He pushed inside her in one go. She felt a slight pain that was immediately overtaken by the pleasure of being so full.
“Fuck, I can’t believe this is finally happening,” Seb groaned.
The way he said it, it sounded like he was living his dream. Emily’s head, which had tuned out, came back online again. What was she doing? This wasn’t the Seb she knew, this was Sebastian Raux. The man who took over her favorite place. Who trampled her life. Who broke her heart.
Seb frowned and stopped moving, worried. The concern in his eyes confused her. Realistically, she knew Seb wasn’t really a bad person. He never was. But his face in that moment awakened the parts of her she’d long buried. She felt an overwhelming sense of love for the man looking at her with so much care, so much warmth, she didn’t know what to do withit all. Emily wasn’t sure what she was doing, but she knew she’d hate herself if they stopped now, so she kissed him.
Seb started moving again. He maintained a steady rhythm, giving in to his body’s need. His hands didn’t let up, exploring her curves, palming her breasts, and rubbing her clit. She gasped out his name when she felt the waves crashing through her body this time.
Seb groaned and increased his pace. He grunted with every thrust, his mouth firmly on Emily’s neck. His hips flexed as he came. He sealed their lips again, kissing her violently like he wanted to swallow her whole.
They lazily explored their mouths until their breath returned to normal. Seb then got up and walked to her bathroom, probably to get rid of the condom.
“It’s been so long since I’ve been in this room,” he said when he came out a few seconds later. “God, it feels like nothing has changed,” he continued, his tone growing a bit hesitant.
Emily didn’t take her eyes off the ceiling. Maybe Seb was right, nothing had changed. She clearly still wanted him. Just as bad as she did four years ago.
But now that the fun was over, she could see he was wrong. So wrong. This was not her home anymore. They weren’t kids anymore. And they definitely weren’t naive enough to let their hearts make decisions for them anymore.
No, a lot had changed. Seb chose to leave. He made sure nothing would ever be the same again.
