“Thanks.”

As I looked over at Serena, our eyes met and, even surrounded by other people, a jolt of electricity ran between us.

“I hope you’ll meet someone who makes you as happy as Serena makes me.”

Maximum dipped his head before looking up at me with a serious expression. “Did you know from the beginning that she was the one?”

“No. But I knew she’d made a big impression when no other woman interested me in a sexual way.”

“Hmm…”

“Have you met someone like that?” I asked him.

“No. Not yet, but I’m not in a hurry either. I have an issue with…”

My eyes were on Serena as I waited for him to finish his sentence.

“Jealousy.”

“What?” I frowned and turned my face back to him.

“The few times I’ve tried getting involved with someone I ruin it with my jealousy.”

“You gotta get that under control or you’ll sabotage yourself. No woman deserves to be limited or blamed because other men are attracted to her.”

“So what’s your secret? Don’t tell me that doesn’t bother you.” Maximum nodded toward Serena, who stood in conversation with two handsome men.

“Why would I be jealous of them? They’re admiring her but it’s me that she loves.”

Feeling my eyes on her, Serena turned her face and sent me an air kiss that made pride swell in my chest.

“Other men can dream all they want, but at the end of the day, I’m the lucky one who gets to take Serena home and make sure she falls asleep a happy woman.”
