He grins. “Yeah. I’ve grown up a little since the last time you saw me.”
Yeah, you fucking did. “That happens when you’re nineteen.”
“Twenty. Just had a birthday last week.”
“Happy belated birthday.”
“Thanks.”
“We’re having cake,” Trinity adds. “We have two pies, brownies, and a cake for our boy.”
Our boy?
I glance at Rocco, who grins. “She insisted we celebrate since they were up at school.”
“Great idea.”
“When’s your birthday?” Trinity asks.
“Why?”
“I like to know. I’m into astrology. Like, Tristan is a Scorpio. I’m a Pisces, so we make good friends. What’s your sign?”
“Taurus.”
Trinity looks at Tristan with an excited grin, but Tristan shakes his head subtly, shifting his eyes to Rocco. I have a feeling I’ve been a topic of discussion between these two before.
Trinity grins. “Taurus is a nice sign.”
“I guess. I’ve always been told I’m stubborn and possessive.”
She nods. “Yes, but in the right situation, that can be good.”
“What situation is stubborn and possessive positive?”
“When you meet the yang to your yin it balances out.” She lifts an olive from the tray and pops it in her mouth. “Are you dating anyone now?”
“No.”
She shakes her head. “I don’t get. Three gorgeous boys in this room and none of you are dating. Such a shame.”
“I don’t see any boys in this room,” Tristan says, pinching her chin. “Maybe we’re all just picky. Right, dad?”
“Right. Definitely true for Bishop too.”
“Well that’s fair,” Trinity adds. “You’re all in a position to be choosy.”
“And you?” I ask. “Dating?”
“No, but I was. We just broke up.” She stretches her arms out. “I needed to spread my wings.”
I laugh at her intentional dramatics. “That’s what college is for.”
“I think so too.”
“He was a dick,” Tristan adds. “You needed to dump him.”
“Not a good guy?” I ask.
