It felt like the wind had been knocked out of me. “Whose baby is it and why hasn’t she said shit to me about it? When did she come to this revelation?”
The shit had me hot, but I did my best to not completely lose my cool. Deja was right, it wasn’t her fault she was just carrying a bone and being messy with it. My anger was toward Brandi.
“She was going through one of her depressive moments and the lack of affection and attention from you had her really down bad. When she had that false labor gas pain scare, I really thought she was about to go into labor. I got so excited and posted on my Facebook that I was about to be an auntie or some shit, and Brandi lost it on me.”
“Why would she lose it on you? You didn’t know it was a false alarm.”
“She was pissed that I posted about her pregnancy period. The dude she might be pregnant by and I are mutual friends onFacebook. I actually used to date his brother. When he saw my post, he hit her up about the baby being his and she took that shit out on me.”
“I know you got damn lying to me!”
“I’m dead ass serious. Had I known she had all of that going on I wouldn’t have posted shit. I just felt that you needed to know. I mean, here we are being all secretive about what we have going on and the whole time she done did the most. I guess that’s another reason why I got so upset when that chick answered your door.”
Deja continued to rant on and on about how surprised about how emotional she got when she saw Tatiana. She was saying that she realized that she truly had deep feelings and possibly love for me because she felt protective over me. When Brandi told her about her cheating, she felt like she needed to look out for me because she had feelings for me, and I was so blown away by everything revealed that I was standing there stuck and speechless.
Just as my luck would have it, my cell phone started going off back-to-back. It was the receptionist desk calling about an NBA player checking in. Whenever we had any professional athletes or celebrities checking in, it was mandatory that I was present to greet them upon arrival. Deja knew that was routine and standard, so she gave me no problems with cutting our conversation short. We said our good-byes with promises of me calling her later to finish our talk. I hadn’t gotten the chance to ask who the dude was, and as I headed toward the reception area, I realized that part of me didn’t even really care. For me, it was more about the principle of it than the fact that she cheated. I couldn’t rightfully be pissed about her steeping out because I was really never all that faithful to her the duration we’d been fucking around. The whole thing about the baby not being mine was what stung the most. One for certain and two things for surewas, if it came out that the baby wasn’t mine, Brandi’s ass would be dead to me.
Ever since that day, Tatiana and I had been going strong as ever. I had only spoken with Deja once, and that was because she insisted on us finishing the conversation. She told me all about the cornball Richie that Brandi had fucked around with and now it was just a waiting game. As soon as I got word that she had the baby I was demanding a DNA test to be done. Until then Brandi was gon’ stay on the block of ice I placed her on.
Before I could make it to the receptionist desk, Tatiana hit me with another 9-1-1 text. This time baby girl was gon’ have to wait until I finished conducting business before I hit her back.
#Chapter 18
@Tatiana
#FourWeeksLater
The last four weeks of my life had been an entire world wind. When my dad had his heart attack and stroke, my life changed in an instant. I thought that it was going to be for the worst when in a way, things got better. My dad’s life was spared, and he was recovering, and Reggie and I were brought closer. I also no longer living at home under my mom’s ruling thankfully and that had been a goal since the day I graduated high school. The only time I had to be bothered with her was whenever I was visiting with my dad. I had even started taking general education courses online which shocked myself but I needed to do something to keep distracted. Since I had decided to give my OnlyFans account a break, I had quite a bit of free time on my hands. So, for the most part things were looking good, but what happened four weeks ago changed me in a way that I never could have imagined.
After that deranged Deja chick left Reggie’s room, I called him and went the hell off. Once he let me know that it was Brandi’s sister, I had calmed down all of five minutes before I gota frantic call from my mom’s friend Chelle. It had been a minute since me and my mom really talked. The last few times I visited with my dad she wasn’t there. I never really got over her taking the condo from me and giving it to her friend Chelle. After that I wanted nothing else to do with her. I truly thought that my life was much more peaceful without her in. I felt for her to do that to me was petty on a different type of level, but thankfully I had Reggie in my life. So, for Chelle of all people to be calling me had me feeling kind of weird which was the only reason why I answered. Just thinking about that day gives me the chills and the hairs on the back of neck rise.
#Flashback
“Hey Chelle, what’s up?”
“Tatiana!” Chelle all but shouted. “It’s your mom. You need to get to the condo A.S.A.P!” Chelle cried.
The fact that she was in complete breakdown mode had me taken off guard. My adrenaline kicked in as my heart rate increased.
“Come to the condo for what?”
“Tatiana,” Chelle cried. “It’s bad! It’s really, really bad!”
“Oh my God, Chelle, what’s wrong? What happened to my mom?”
“Please, Tatiana! I know she’s not your favorite person right now… oh God! You have to get here now!” Chelle sobbed.
It was clear that I wasn’t about to get very far over the phone with Chelle, so I jumped up and started to get ready to leave.
“I’m on my way.”
Hanging up the phone, I jumped up and immediately began to get dressed. I tried calling Reggie a few times, but he didn’t answer so I sent him a 9-1-1 text. It took me all of five minutes to throw on some gloss and to put my hair in a messy bun.Whenever he wouldn’t answer my phone calls and there was an emergency, I hit him with a 9-1-1 text. By the time I left the room and made it to the parking garage, Reggie called me back. When I told him about Chelle’s phone call, he told me to stay put while he rushed to the garage. My nerves were shot to shingles, so I was very appreciative of him because he wound up driving me to the condo. Had I driven myself I probably would have wrecked my car.
I was very blessed to have Reggie in my life. Although my mom thought I was a horrible person for having an OnlyFans page, had it not been for my OnlyFans page chances are Reggie and I wouldn’t have linked up. Now that we’d been kicking it pretty hard, we’d been discussing moving into a place that he insisted on helping me purchase together. He also let me use one of his spare cars which worked out great. My parents had brought me a car, but while my mom was on a confiscating spree, after taking the condo back, she also took away my car keys. Being that the car was in their names, I was pretty much shit out of luck. When Reggie said I could use one of his cars, I hurried up and jumped on that offer.
He was definitely helping me level up in life as well as being my rock and Lord knows I needed that. I had completely fallen in love with him, and I prayed that he wasn’t about to mess over my heart. The entire ride to the condo, all I could think about was my mom. As much as she was a thorn in my side, I still loved her because she was my mother. I think Reggie knew I was in deep thought, because as we rode in silence, he held my hand and gently stroked the top of it with his thumb. I loved the compassion that he showed me. It was very comforting.
Once we made it to the condo, Reggie parked in the attached parking garage in the visitor section then we both rushed to the front entrance. As we approached the front of the building, I noticed some police cars. As we entered the lobby a few copswere standing around and for some reason my intuition told me that they were there for whatever was going on with my mom. As we entered the elevator, my body began to tremble. I didn’t know what I was about to walk into. I didn’t know if someone broke in and robbed her. I didn’t know if she was hurt. All I knew was that it was bad and that it was an emergency.
