“Yeah, me too.” His warm semen crashed into my waves and a sense of relief washed over me. I should’ve known he was going to stand behind that a hundred percent. He was having his way with me after all.
Our chest heaved as we inhaled deeply to try and restore our normal breathing pattern. Lines had been crossed and there was no turning back. I heard the warning and still gave him the green light. It was no use in panicking now or showing regret because this was initiated by me, not him. He waited patiently for me, that I couldn’t take away from him.
“You know I love you, right?”
“You might’ve mentioned it, but I’m still not convinced. It takes you no time to fall for a woman which has me thinking if this is worth it,” I teased with a straight face. Mind you, this nigga had yet to separate us.
“Nah, it took me none to fall for you. Them bitches couldn’t get a second glance out of me. I fell ‘cause you gave me pushback and them dumbass broads think all I want to hear isyes. I don’t like being told no but damn have some morals and make a nigga work for it.”
“You worked hard for this pussy, baby,” I jested. I was having a time thinking on how this fool added me to his bank account. He’d been certain about me from day one and never strayed.
“Goddamn right I did. Wear that ring with pride, My Baby, I paid a grip for that muthafucka.”
“It’s really nice, but I still stand on you asking me first. You didn’t know where my head was at on this entire thing between us Royce. I just accepted this life and now you’re giving me a ring. What’s next?”
“The fuck you mean what’s next? I told you what’s mine is yours so whatever you want to do is next.”
I shook my head from how he failed to understand what I was saying. I never had the option to reject him because he held me and my kid’s hostage. They adapted quickly with Essence latching on to him from the time she was out the womb. I needed that time to think and sort out my thoughts, but he never gave it to me. Yeah, I got comfortable as the weeks passed by and even acknowledged all the things he did without being asked or told. The little things pushed me over the hill for him. Nevertheless, I just accepted all of that. The ring was making the last step I took be overlooked.
“Let it go Royce. Ain’t no point in talking about this anymore.” I tapped his shoulder to be let down. Finally, I was placed on my feet. Was I able to walk? Hell no, but I faked the funk while I washed our session off.
“What’s the problem?” he questioned.
“There isn’t one.” Suddenly, Essence’s baby monitor went off with her cries seeping through the speaker. “I’ll go,” I said walking out the shower first. I was annoyed to say the least.
Slipping on my bathrobe and slippers, I headed out the room and to the opposite wing of the house. Royce had a small room that connected to his. For the life of me, I was trying to figure out why he didn’t have that room made up for Essence for the time being. It would’ve been so much easier for all of us.
Opening her room door, her cries were loud and piercing. She had an excellent set of lungs despite her coming a few weeks early. She was either hungry, wet, or in need of some attention.I had no problem doing either for her. Her adorableness granted her that.
“Okay, okay. I got you mamas. We ‘bout to get you changed and fed so your overprotective ass daddy won’t say you’re being neglected. I keep telling you that man is crazy,” I said picking her up.
She was packing on the pounds like it was nothing. My breast milk was giving her the nutrients she needed. Her chubby self was too damn cute sometimes. She looked up at me with those big bright eyes as if she really knew what I was saying. Those big eyes came from me and me alone.
“Mommy, is sister hurt?” CJ asked walking into her bedroom rubbing his eyes.
“No baby boy. She’s just ready for me to get her belly full and show her some love. Do you know what you want for breakfast? I can make you something right after.”
He nodded wildly saying, “Granny makes booberry cakes. I want those.”
“Okay,” I replied with a giggle. I was glad to see my boy talking but sometimes he tried saying words that were too big for Elmo and mispronounced them. I found it to be cute as ever. I’d give him another year before he had his vocabulary all the way together. His third birthday was on the way leaving me a month to prepare. “Once I’m done with her, we can go down and make them together. How does that sound?”
“Yay!” he shouted before taking off back across the hall.
I shook my head as a smile creased my lips. He was growing up on me and I was not prepared. I was just thankful he had another year to be with me at home before I was sending him off to pre-K. I was emotional behind my children.
I took the time to get Essence cleaned up before I allowed her to eat. She was fussing at me until I popped a nipple inher mouth. She didn’t give a damn about being held. She was looking for the titty.
We strolled back to the bedroom Royce and I shared so he could handle me while I handled her. Another routine I adjusted to was having him moisturize my body from head to toe. While CJ and Essence were spoiled by Royce and his entire family, my spoiled treatment came from him and him alone. No one else did a thing because he wouldn’t allow them to. Even the little things Ms. Iris started out doing was now a job he’d taken on.
“How is she?” He wasted no time questioning me about her. As long as she was in the room, his focus was solely on her.
“She’s fine. She was hungry and wet. I got her clean and now she’s eating. CJ wants blueberry pancakes for breakfast, so I have to go down and get him right after I tend to her.”
“Don’t even bother yourself with that, My Baby. My mama uses a special ingredient for them pancakes. Just call her to come make them,” he suggested.
“I know how to cook Royce.”
“I never said you didn’t but if he wants blueberry pancakes, I know why he’s asking. My mama be lacing them bitches or something ‘cause I ain’t met a soul that can whip them like her.”
