“They don’t need all that money Royce. They’re kids. A million dollars at eighteen is insane and you know it.”

“Well, that’s how it’s set up and I ain’t changing it or making the value less all because you think it’s too much. Once you sign these papers for the joint account, you’ll be a billionaire. That’s too much for you to handle?”

“Yes, it is. Royce, we don’t need access to all that money. Hell, I don’t need access to any of it if I’m being honest. Why would you put me on there without talking to me first?” Her tonewas still calm and soft as ever. My daughter was still attached and them together was a beautiful sight. Her being a mother grew the attraction times ten.

“For this very reason, My Baby. You don’t ask for shit so that makes me want to give you the world. Now, sign these papers for me. They already marked off on where to sign.” I removed a pen from my suit inner pocket and handed it over.

“Royce, we don’t need this,” she repeated.

“Yeah, I heard you the first time. Here.” I laid the form on the nightstand beside the rocking chair and pointed to the first signature place. “Make it pretty,” I teased wearing a grin.

“You’re refusing to listen to me Royce and I don’t like that.”

“How? I heard you both times when you said y’all ain’t need it. Did you hear me when I said sign these goddamn papers though? Seems to me that you the one that ain’t listening. Look, I’ll sign it first.” I snatched the pen from her hand and scribbled my name down above where hers was supposed to go. “Now, can you please sign this shit?”

She stared at me as if I was joking about this shit. I didn’t give a fuck about that bank shit if I was being real. I just needed her to sign off on them adoption papers and marriage application. All that other shit could get handled at another time. I guess she was a lil’ irritated with me ‘cause she just started signing her name without even reading. What them white folk say? I was jumping for joy on the inside. She signed each one then kicked me out.

“Get out, Royce. You’ve interrupted my peace,” she said rolling her eyes.

“I can help you get it back, if need be,” I threw back roaming her body refusing to hide how bad I wanted her. She dropped her eyes as her cheeks flushed. “I interrupted yo’ peace but now yo’ mind wondering. Ain’t that something?”

“Bye Royce!” she shouted hitting me with one of Essence’s pillows.

“Damn, so I can’t enjoy my family?” my tone had dropped and everything about her had my attention. I had yet to move from in front of her. I could smell her fuckin’ pheromones at this point. Leaning in closer, I was back in her face with a centimeter of space between us.

“Seems to me like you want to enjoy something else, and I distinctly remember having six days left of my six weeks,” she taunted.

“Until you give me the green light, all a nigga can do is imagine how good that shit taste and feel. I know that muthafucka ‘bout to drive a nigga crazy.”

She blushed saying, “As long as you know.”

I had plenty of restraint, but Klarity was the one woman I had a hard time controlling myself around. She stirred everything in me unaware of the fire she lit within me. One time, and I was fuckin’ her pretty ass down to the muthafuckin’ flo’!

“Finish feeding my baby. I’m getting the hell up out of here before my fuckin’ dick break off.” Standing upright, I grabbed the documents and headed for the door. She snickered as I did that lil’ leg shake to try and get my dick to calm down.

I hit Yonnis’s phone immediately once I got back downstairs. “Man, what she tell them people, so I’ll know how to come?” he asked with annoyance. The deep sigh he released said he was tired of my shit.

“What? Nigga, come get these goddamn papers now before she changes her mind and want to read them. I’m getting Heidi to sign as my witness right now. I’m gon’ need you to take this shit to Striker and get him to sign it, too. Pull them strings and file this shit tonight!”

“This shit ain’t normal, Royce. I’m five minutes away. I was trying to go home and enjoy my evening. You really need to go lay on somebody couch nigga.”

“I do. Mine.” I hung up with a smile on my face. I followed Heidi’s voice and CJ’s laugh through the foyer. They were in the living room with his Hot Wheels racetrack. “Aye, come here Heidi.”

She stood and jogged over to me. “What’s up, best friend?”

“Sign this right quick. Don’t ask no questions just do it.”

“I know better than to ask about any of the psychotic mess you do. Where’s the pen?” she questioned with her hand out. I handed it over and she signed it without hesitation. She scurried back over to CJ and continued to entertain him.

I was a happy camper out this bitch. Once Yonnis gave me the word that everything was filed and taken care of, I’d put that rock on her hand. I didn’t and never would play fair. I mean, she already admitted to falling for me, so I was just speeding up the future events.

Iwas woken by the bright sunrays that pushed through the sheer curtains. I loved looking out this specific window because you could fall asleep to the beautiful night sky and wake up to the sun letting you know how pretty the new day would be. If I was back at home, stress would’ve been my only wake up call.

Shifting my body a little, I was held tighter. I didn’t know when it happened but sleeping under Royce had become a routine. He wouldn’t allow me to sleep anywhere without him anyway.
