“Didyou really just pull out paper and pens?” Tucker asks, eyeing me warily.
I set everything down on my dining table. “What? We have things we need to discuss and figure out. We aren’t just diving into something like this without laying down some ground rules.”
He rolls his eyes. “I’ve done it before without any ground rules, and I’m still standing here.”
“That was with one other guy. Plus, as far as I know, it was only ever a one-night thing. Right?”
“Right.”
“This could potentially be more than that.”
“I get it. Believe me, I do, but you need to relax. Just let it all go sometimes.”
Easier said than done.
There’s a soft knock at the door. I pull the door open to find Sienna standing there in a pair of leggings and an oversized sweatshirt.
I don’t know what I was expecting her to wear, but I’m loving this look on her. Her hair is pulled back from her face in a messy ponytail that just showcases how naturally beautiful she is.
I don’t even think she has any makeup on. I love that she just is who she is, no apologies.
“Hey,” I say, holding the door open wider for her to come in.
“I can’t believe you are making this a whole thing we have to do,” she huffs, walking past me.
Just as I’m about to close the door, I see Warren pull his truck to a stop out front. He jogs up the steps and into the house.
“Sorry, Jackson wouldn’t go to sleep tonight. I didn’t want to leave until he was out, so it would be an easy night for the babysitter,” he says.
Sienna’s face softens when she looks at Warren.
What the fuck? Why does he get that look? Just because he’s a dad.I mean, he’s a great dad, but that’s not the point.
Tucker holds up the paper and pens I set on the table. “Mr. Organized got everything set up over here.” His tone is dripping with derision.
We’re going to be lucky if we make it through this night without me punching him in the face, apparently.
“Wow,” Sienna mouths, but she pulls out one of the chairs and takes a seat. The rest of us follow suit, sitting around the round table.
“I know you guys think this is ridiculous, but I don’t want anyone to get hurt.” My eyes focus on Sienna.
She inhales loudly but nods her head.
“Do you want this to be a one-night thing or for it to go on longer?”
She bites her lip. “Longer, I guess.”
I nod. “Is there anything you aren’t comfortable doing at all?”
Her eyes dart around the room, like she’s searching for answers. “Is it okay if I say I don’t really know?”
“Of course it’s okay,” Warren says, resting his hand over hers on the table.
“How about we just say we will all be open and honest with each other?” Tucker says. “If anything comes up that any of us don’t want to do, we won’t do it.”
We all nod in agreement.
