CHAPTER THIRTY
"You live here?" Geo asked as they pulled into the driveway of the team house.
"Nope, we live about fifteen minutes from here," Xander told him. "This is our team house. Think of it as a clubhouse where we all meet and hang out. It's where we do all of our work from so nothing can be traced back to our personal homes."
Bryon welcomed the sight of the small house he'd spent so many hours at. Even more, he welcomed the sight of the woman who was standing on the front porch watching for him. He'd given her a call when they'd been about five minutes away, making sure she was there. Just seeing her did something to his soul that no other woman had ever done. She was his everything.
It took a moment for the group to climb out of the SUV they'd rented for the drive back. Tera had fallen asleep and slowly sat up, looking around. The second SUV carrying Kacey, Noam, Archer, and Carter was behind them about twenty minutes. Bryon was glad they'd made it home first. He was tired of being cooped up in the car and while he loved Xander, Kacey, and was growing to love Geo, he was tired of jokes and bodily sounds coming from the three of them. He was ready to hide away at his place with his woman. He jumped out of the backseat and went directly to her, pulling her into his arms and kissing her hard.
She moaned against his lips and held on tighter as he continued to kiss her, easing her hand up under his shirt to touch the naked skin on his back.
"I love you," he whispered against her lips as he pulled back a bit.
"I love you too. So glad you're home." She smiled up at him. "Long drive?"
"Too long, but worth every mile since it brought me home to you." He ran his fingers through her hair.
"Sappy, aren't we?" She laughed.
"Just glad to hold you again." He kissed her once more. "Everything okay around here?"
"Yep, I made sandwiches for everyone. I knew you'd be hungry. Parson is home, but Beau is here with Trenton and Ben. They're following up on breaking national news that Congressman Jenson has been arrested for sexually assaulting a child." She grinned.
"Couldn't happen to a more deserving man." Bryon laughed. "He won't get out of this one. Too many people are aware of what happened in Vegas. One of the local news teams is digging deep to uncover everything. Not only do the news agencies have the stuff we sent them, they've got a source in the hospital that shared reports of what the injuries were. This won't go away."
