“Fox?”A voice cuts through the noise, soft and familiar.Pale hands snake around my waist from behind.

I spin around and come face-to-face with Lexi. She’s smirking, her eyes glassy from too much alcohol.“You came for me, didn’t you?”she whispers, biting her bottom lip.Her tone is taunting, and I can tell she’s drunk.

“We need to talk,” I growl, grabbing her arm.Without giving her a chance to protest, I start dragging her toward the exit.

“Easy, Fox, I’m wearing heels!”she hisses, stumbling behind me.

“Like I give a fuck,” I snap, shoving open the club’s door and pulling her into the cool night air.Once we’re at a safe distance from the entrance, I let go of her arm and whirl around to face her.

“Are you fucking crazy?”I yell, my voice cutting through the hum of the street.

Lexi stumbles back slightly, adjusting her skirt.“What’s your problem?”she spits, glaring at me.

“You’re my fucking problem, Lexi! Why did you tell my parents? We had a talk, Lexi. You promised to back off.”

She sneers.“You think I was just going to sit back and watch you throw me away for him?”

“Then you decided to tell my father, huh?”My voice rises with every word.

“So what if I did?”she snaps, unremorseful.

My fury boils over, and before I can stop myself, I grab her by the neck and slam her against a parked car.She squeals, clawing at my hand.

“How could you?Who else did you tell?”I demand, my voice low and venomous.

“You’re hurting me!”she chokes out, struggling against my grip.

“Answer me!”I tighten my hold, the edges of my vision turning red.“Who else did you fucking tell?”

“Carter!”she gasps, coughing.“I told Carter, and I’m sure he’s told everyone by now—your frat brothers, the whole school.Hell, I was tempted to tell your soccer team too.”

I let go of her neck, and she collapses against the car, coughing and gasping for air.My fists clench at my sides as I try to rein in the urge to hurt her again.

“What else did you do, Lexi?”I ask through gritted teeth.

She wipes her mouth, a twisted smile forming on her face.“It’s disgusting to think you left me for him. What does he have that I don’t?”

“Everything!”I roar.“He has a heart, something you don’t have.He loves me for who I am, not for what I can give him. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me, Lexi. You?You’re just a bitter, nagging, manipulative—” I pause, taking a deep breath.“You can’t even love yourself, let alone anyone else.”

Her face flushes with anger.“How dare you?”She raises her hand to slap me, but I catch it mid-air, twisting her wrist behind her.She screams in pain.

“You’re going to stay the fuck away from Cameron and me,” I hiss, slamming her back against the car.“If you come near us again, you’ll regret it.Am I clear?”

Her eyes blaze with defiance, but she nods.“You can’t save him,” she mutters, her voice dripping with venom.“I already sent him the video.”

I freeze.“What did you say?”

She smirks and pulls out her phone. With trembling fingers, she shows me the video. It’s one I recognize instantly—me and Lexi kissing months ago, back when we were still together. My stomach churns as I watch it, me, months ago—groping her, oblivious to the fact that she was filming.

“You didn’t…” I snatch the phone from her, replaying the video, hoping it’s a bad dream. But it’s not.

“Oh, I did,” she purrs.“I sent it to him.Along with a picture.I made sure he’d see it.”

My chest tightens. The thought of Cameron seeing this—of him thinking I betrayed him—makes my knees weak.

“He’s not going to believe you,” I say, though the words feel hollow.

“Let’s see about that,” she taunts.“You don’t deserve to be happy, Fox.”
