He stays quiet for a moment, brushing his lips against my hair like he’s buying time.“I don’t know.Maybe it’s what I grew up around.I’ve dated a few brunettes, a couple of redheads, and countless blondes. It’s like…an attraction I can’t explain."
"An attraction?"I raise an eyebrow.
He leans down, his lips brushing against my ear."You’re more than an attraction, babe. You’re more than everything, and I love you so much."His words make my heart flutter, the sincerity in his voice wrapping around me like a warm embrace.
"I love you too," I whisper back, feeling the familiar rush of happiness.
Fox nips gently at my earlobe, his voice dropping into a teasing whisper."I really want to kiss you right now."
I shudder, tilting my head slightly."I know people around don’t care, but we’re not about to make out in front of them.Let’s go home," I say, gently pushing his arms away as I tug him back toward the restaurant.
Fox grumbles playfully behind me, and I can’t help but laugh."Am I only getting a kiss?"he asks, his tone full of mock disappointment.
"What do you want?"I tease, glancing over my shoulder at him.
"The other stuff," he says with a smirk.
"What other stuff?"I pretend to be clueless, biting my lip to hide my grin.
"Wait till we get home, and I’ll show you what other stuff," Fox replies, making me gasp as he playfully slaps my butt.
I whirl around, shooting him a mock glare, but his smirk nearly makes my knees weak."I’ll get you for that," I warn.
Fox just chuckles, clearly unfazed.
We arrive at the restaurant parking lot, and Fox opens the car door for me.I slip inside, still amazed by his thoughtfulness. He climbs into the driver’s seat, shutting the door behind him. Before I can even fasten my seatbelt, Fox pulls me toward him, capturing my lips in a desperate, fiery kiss.
I kiss him back, my fingers cupping his cheek as I lose myself in the heat of the moment. His lips are soft and insistent, and the way his hand trails to the back of my neck makes me forget where we are.
"We should take this home," I whisper between kisses, my voice breathless.
Fox groans, reluctantly pulling away.He tucks a stray strand of my hair behind my ear, his thumb brushing against my cheek as he stares at me."I love you.Always remember that," he says, his voice low and full of emotion.
"Yeah, I know.I love you too," I reply softly, my chest tightening with the weight of my feelings for him.
Fox smiles, pressing a soft kiss to my lips before pulling back.He fastens his seatbelt, starts the car, and we drive out of the lot, the anticipation of what’s to come lingering in the air between us.
I peer out the car window as Fox’s car comes to a slow stop outside our apartment building.
We step out of the car and walk into the lobby, Fox’s hand brushing mine as he presses the elevator button.Neither of us says a word, but the air between us practically sizzles.
Inside the elevator, we lean on opposite walls—only for a second.
Then Fox crosses the small space in two long strides, caging me against the steel wall. His hand plants next to my head, and then his mouth is on mine.
The kiss is anything but soft. It’s hungry—possessive—like he’s trying to memorize the taste of me.Like he’s afraid if he stops, I’ll vanish.
I moan into his mouth, fingers diving into his hair as he groans and presses closer. His hand slips beneath my shirt, warm against my skin, and I can feel him—hard and aching through his jeans.
“Fuck,” he growls, his voice low and wrecked.“I can’t wait to get you all alone. There’s so much I want to do to you.”
The elevator dings, the sudden sound jarring in the middle of all this heat.We pull apart, breathless, lips swollen.Fox runs a hand through his hair, smirking.
“You wanna continue this inside?”he asks, eyes dark with promise.
I bite back a smile, cheeks flushed.“I would like that.”
But the moment we step out of the elevator, the warmth drains from my body.
