“Oh, believe me, I’m not getting in the middle of this.” Dane held up his hands. “And in case you didn’t hear me the first time, you’re a jackass.”

Everett spent the next hour at the booth. While Nicole gabbed with customers and sold honey, he and Benji unloaded the last of the boxes and restocked the shelves. Dane had gone out to the truck to see if they’d overlooked a box of honey. At the rate things were going, they’d sell out before the day was over.

As he was rearranging the display, an older woman pointed at him. “You’re the guy.”

“The guy?” Everett frowned. What now?

“The one reading that book to the little girl?” The woman smiled. “My daughter sent me the video on Instagram and asked me to find you.” The woman pulled out her wallet. “Please tell me you still have copies because I want to get one for my other grandbabies, too.”

Everett and Benji exchanged a look.

“Kerrielynn.” Benji grinned. “Sheisrecordingeverything.”

At least this was about Rosebud’s book and not something to do with that bachelor article.

“We don’t have any copies available at the moment.” Nicole’s smile was sympathetic. “But if you want to leave your email address, I’ll let you know when we get more in.”

Had Nicole sold Rosebud’s books? If she had, he knew Rosebud wasn’t going to be happy.

“That’s a shame.” The woman gazed over the display. “My daughter got me watching the videos Tansy and Dane post when they’re beekeeping. They are the cutest couple. And the other two sisters are so pretty, aren’t they? I hadn’t seen the other one until that video this morning. I didn’t know what she was talking about, but it’s clear she’s smart as a whip.”

Everett chuckled at that.

Nicole held out a tablet and pen. “Jot your email address down, and I’ll let you know about the books.”

The woman wrote her email address and handed back the tablet. “I can’t wait.” She looked around. “I was hoping I’d see one of the Hill sisters or Dane.”

“There’s Dane.” Nicole pointed. “Looks like he found another box of honey.”

“My goodness, heishandsome. My daughter was showing me the picture of that actor, the one who plays Thor? A lot of fans online think they could be twins, but I don’t think they look all that much alike. Dane is far handsomer.” The woman said this in all sincerity.

Everett was chuckling again. If Dane had heard that, he’d be grinning from ear to ear. He hated being called Thor or being compared to the actor that played him.

“Dane, you have a fan,” Nicole said, taking the box from Dane and handing it to Benji.

“Thanks to you and the Bee Girls, I’ve been planting bee-friendly flowers and making sure they have water, too.” The woman smiled up at Dane.

“That’s nice to hear. The bees and Tansy and I appreciate your efforts.”

“And then the video of that hot guy—that’s what my daughter said, not me—over there reading that book popped up on your feed, and I had to come get a couple of them.” The woman’s face fell. “Too bad you’re out of books.”

“I’ve got your email. I’ll be sure to let you know.” Nicole scanned the paper. “Gladys.”

“Alrighty, dear.” Gladys paused. “Dane, can I get a picture with you? My daughter will be so jealous.”

Dane chuckled. “No problem.”

Everett took a picture of Dane and Gladys, then helped her pick out two Texas Viking Honey T-shirts, several jars of honey, and a box of Honey Hill Farms Milk & Honey soap. “You all keep on posting the good work,” she said as she moved on.

“She’s like the thirtieth person that’s stopped by here hoping to buy a book or see you or Tansy or Astrid or Rosemary or the hot reading guy.” Nicole pointed at Everett. “I feel like y’all should post appearance times and charge for pictures. You’d make loads of money.”

“Where are Rosebud’s books?” Everett didn’t see the box anywhere.

Nicole lifted up one of the table coverings. “I hid them. I mean, I was tempted to sell them, but I wasn’t sure Rosemary would ever forgive me.”

“Now Everett’s the hot reading guy? Because most eligible bachelor isn’t enough?” Dane found this a little too amusing.

“I’m happy not being either.” Everett shot a glare Dane’s way.
