She was ours, which meant, for our eyes only.

But now, after all of this, we were going to have to get even more creative with security. And Tal had come up with an idea on how to achieve this after that last dream. The plan was to have all doors installed with a lock down system that we could activate at night. It was the only way to ensure she couldn’t get out, even in her sleep. One that would only be accessible to open through our fingerprints when we chose to open them. Because one thing was for damn sure, we wouldn’t be getting any fucking sleep until we did!

However, this did also mean another trip out in the city, so as she wasn’t around when this was being installed. As once again, we were trying to make her feel less like a prisoner, not more so. Fuck, but at this rate, we would be building her a pretty gilded cage to sleep in!

Now why did that thought quickly have my cock growing hard… or should I say harder, as it seemed permanently at the ready when around her. I felt like an adolescent youngling.

Fucking her in a cage would be hot as hell and keeping her in it even hotter if we did so naked, refusing to give her clothes and feeding her like our pet. Fuck! But that barbaric thought wouldn’t fucking leave me now! Which meant that I would need to jerk one out in the shower before dressing for tonight’s event. One we hadn’t intended on taking her to so soon. But with the new security, we had no choice. It was a gala for some charity event that one of our many companies funded and was usually one I would have to show my face for.

I didn’t know what would shock the media more, the fact that I wouldn’t have my token, stick thin, brunette model on my arm this time, or that my brother was actually going to be showing his face.

We would both be turning up with the most beautiful girl on our arm, and the lack of indifference on my face would be blindingly obvious. As would all the attention we would shower her with.

Because it couldn’t be helped. She was like a drug. Every look, every smile, every laugh, every sigh… all her reactions we just lapped up, craving more. Oh, and we knew how to get them… Hence the cycle of attention, and the addicts we were in response to giving it.

And tonight would be no exception. For I didn’t give a damn if the media would be there in full force. Or the fact that others of the rich elite were to witness this change in us. I didn’t care if tongues went wagging across the room in a sea of gossip. I was ready to announce it to the world by putting a ring on the girl’s finger, as was my brother.

But as we kept reminding each other, that didn’t exactly scream taking this slow. So, until then, we were happy to show her off and announce to the world in another way that the girl was ours and ours alone.

Now in this, we realized it would do two things, the first was the less ideal, for it would let our enemies know that we finally had a weakness. A weakness at risk of being exploited, which would likely be putting her in even more danger.

However, we also knew this was eventually inevitable as we would likely be seen together at some point, if we hadn’t already. So, to counteract this risk, we knew that by highlighting this change in our lives, it would have an immediate effect among our people. That knowledge of finding our fated would alert our own kind and therefore unite those loyal to us. For there were far more of those who we ruled over that would risk it all to save her. Doing so out of fear of our wrath should they not. And should we discover one of our own could have done something to protect her from harm and hadn’t…

It would be an instant death sentence.

Fear, after all, was a great motivator.

And besides, a happy king made for a less murderous one.

Nessa was currently in a different bedroom, getting ready for our date, as she didn’t need us looming over her as she did her hair.

A good job too, as I soon received a phone call from Andras and, unfortunately, it was not happy news. Nor was it great timing. Although, it never would be as it concerned her friend Stacey.

Someone that our second had just prevented from being…

Kidnapped.

KNEEL TO TIME

VANESSA

When Victor told me about the gala, I was nervous.

And not just in the moment, but more like…all day!

All day, I was on edge, because shopping was one thing, but going out to a very public event with me on their arm felt way too soon. That little thrill trying to dig its way into my doubts was one I managed to keep at bay. Because I knew I should have allowed myself to feel excited that they wanted to take this relationship to the next level. But then this thought was squashed the second I thought of the witch and her damn curse. One that I so badly wanted to believe was all bullshit, just like Tal and Victor said.

Frustration had eased in them both, because at least now they knew the root of my self-doubt and why it had started to grow in the first place.

They knew it all.

It had been like an unstoppable tornado tearing up the memories of my life and tossing the pieces of it out there for them to see.I had borne it all.

And what’s more,they had listened.

They had listened and offered me a kind of loving comfort of the likes I never knew. It had been some soothing balsam for my shredded heart, they were slowly fixing me, piecing me back together again. As my love for them continued to grow, they were becoming impossible to resist. The vows to keep my heart protected practically dissolved the moment I stepped foot back into the penthouse.
