“Then go,” I said, frustrated, scared, and confused.

“There she is!” Logan said as he opened the door…shirtless. He looked at me then Zac. “Well, if my job was to keep her calm, thanks for getting her all worked up.”

Zac glared at his cousin, then looked at me. “Go with him.” He looked back at Logan, “Put a shirt on.”

The next thing I knew, the guys were gone in a blur, and three loud bikes were disappearing into the trees. I turned back to Logan only to see him standing there in a tight, fitted tank.

“You guys make me dizzy,” I said.

“Super vamp speed,” he winked. “Come on. Get in here,” he eyed me with a flirty look as he held the door open for me.

“Why aren’t you as worried as the others?” I asked as we walked into a large entryway.

“First of all, it’s my job to stay cool in order to keep you calm. Second?” he draped an arm around me, “I don’t work myself up over shit I know we got handled. I’m not one to overreact. Relax, and let me give you the tour.”

Logan’s arm comforted me and eased my mind a bit. I felt some relief wash over me, knowing I was safe and mom would be too. It would all blow over, and if there were any creeps out looking for me, the other three vampires were handling that right now.

I walked in and saw a bunch of people bustling around. Young female goddesses and more drop-dead gorgeous men. There were about ten of them that I could count.

“So this is the Life Blood you’re all overly obsessed with?” a young brunette with burgundy highlights said unenthusiastically. She wore a tight, way too short skirt and a halter that didn’t leave much to the imagination. Her copper eyes radiated annoyance on her perfect, pointy little face.

“Someone jealous, Liz?” Logan taunted.

“It’s Elizabeth now, you dick,” she shot back as she looked me up and down.

“This is Elle, and if you don’t stop looking at her like that, you’re going to have a problem. Your little vampire ass can leave if you aren’t going to be helpful, none of us will give a shit if you do.”

She fixated her burning gaze on Logan. The fact that she was a vampire automatically made her someone I didn’t want to piss off, but something told me I already had.

“We’re here to help.”

“Then act like it,” Logan snapped.

She took one last look at me before she rolled her eyes and darted over to the others.

“Here,” Logan slid his hand to the small of my back, “Let me show you where your room is,” he pulled me into his side, and I appreciated his security. “Your room is close to mine and my cousins. Those other vamps are sectioned off on the backside of the lodge. You’re only seeing them because they have been rushing in and out to check the city and outer perimeters. Liz can be a bitch all she wants, but she’s loyal to the Life Bloods and to the cause. All of the vampires here will do everything in their power to protect you.”

We climbed a polished wooden staircase, “What if they aren’t like you and your cousins? What if they want to…you know?” I couldn’t say the word yet.

“Taste you?” he smirked. A sexy smirk that brought a twinkle to his piercing blue eyes, “We’ll rip their heads off. Don’t be such a chicken.”

“You don’t have to bethatmuch of an insensitive dick, you know?”

He laughed, “Did you already forget how sensitive I can be? Already forgetting our first night in bed together?” he chuckled.

“Very funny. And yes, I do remember. Truth be told, I’m starting to wonder if there is a Logan one and a Logan two.”

He leaned into me and stopped our walk on the second floor. His lips touched my ear, “You have no idea what I will do to you to prove there is only one Logan.”

Good God.

My body shuddered in response to his closeness. The ecstasy he sent surging through me was unlike anything I’d ever experienced.

I managed to shove him away, and recover. “You’re pretty confident, aren’t you?”

He smiled, “I felt your emotions last night. I know how you feel about us. It’s pretty hot.”

“Please,” I arched a brow at him. “You don’t know me like that. Trust me, I’m not the type of girl who’s capable of being into four guys at once…or vampires. Whatever. I hardly know any of you.”
