And other than that, there wasn’t anything else to look at in his room, unless she wanted to explore his closet. Since the door was closed, it just felt a little too nosy. She could move locations to the bathroom but…

For some reason she didn’t want to leave this room. It was like a little cocoon bubble of safety. Michael wasout there. Further conversation wasout there.

Explanations for why she was such a freak would happenout there.

He’d been really nice about it, but he had to have questions. Who wouldn’t?

“Ugh… I suck,” she muttered as she made a beeline for her purse. Fortunately her phone battery was still half full.

Who to call though? Angel was the first person who popped into her head, but Angel was really close friends with Michael… which was part of why she’d popped into Ellie’s head, but the cons might outweighed the pros on that one. Lexie was probably the better choice. Hopefully, it wasn’t too early in the morning to call her.

Practically doing a little nervous dance as the phone rang, Ellie almost pumped her fist with relief when Lexie answered.

“Hello? Ellie? Are you okay?” Lexie didn’t sound sleepy, so at least Ellie hadn’t woken her up.

“Hi, yeah, I’m okay I think,” Ellie whispered into the phone.

“Why are you whispering?” Lexie whispered back.

“Michael’s in the other room and… I don’t know, I guess I don’t want him to hear me.” Now she felt a little silly, but she’d probably feel even sillier if Michael knew she was calling reinforcements because she didn’t know how to handle this situation. It was such a normal situation, she was just a freak who had made it twenty eight years and only had a sleepover with one guy.Well, two now.

“What do you need?” Lexie asked. She wasn’t whispering anymore but her voice was still softer than normal. Maybe because she felt weird speaking normally, while Ellie was whispering.

“What do I do?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, what do I literally do? He’s in the kitchen making me breakfast… do I put my dress back on? Do I stay in his t-shirt and boxers? Do I eat and leave, or am I supposed to stay after we eat? What do Isayto him?!” Her whispering was getting louder as a new kind of panic gripped her. With every question she asked, her anxiety rose.

She was so in over her head.

“Shh, shh, it’s okay,” Lexie reassured her. “If you want to leave right after eating, put your dress back on. If you want to stay, you can stay in his clothes. Or you can always just leave right after and steal his clothes if you want to. Stolen t-shirts are the best. What you want to do after breakfast is entirely up to you.”

“Okay… but what do I say to him?”

“Just… normal conversation. Ask him about Marquis. Talk about the scene last night. Or go crazy and talk about his apartment and ask him a few questions about himself.”

Ellie cringed. What did it say about her that she was way more freaked out about asking personal questions than she was having sex with a guy? Even now, her sore ass and pleasantly sore pussy didn’t faze her. That part was great. But she was freaking out about talking over breakfast to the guy who had given them to her.

“You can do it, Ellie,” Lexie said encouragingly after a moment of silence. “I know morning afters can be kind of weird, but it’s a lot easier once you get out there and start a conversation. Both of you will pretend everything is just fine and totally normal, and before you know it, it will be.”

Sounded easier said than done, but Lexie did have a point. Kind of like how Ellie had worked herself up before signing the club contract last night, but once she’d signed it she’d settled down and everything had felt good.

And then everything had feltreallygood.

She was going to be feeling the after effects from last night for days. She wanted more scenes like that. Which meant she needed to get out there and convince Michael she wasn’t a total freak. He’d already agreed to take her home after scening at the club, rather than back to his place, so that conversation was out of the way.

She could do this.

“Thanks, Lexie,” she whispered.

“Any time, babe,” Lexie said. “And you can call me any time, okay? Good luck!”

Hanging up the phone, Ellie took a deep breath. Okay, step one - leave the bedroom. The bathroom was just across the hall. She could totally handlejust going to the bathroom. Michael wasn’t in there after all.

Nothing like having a woman panic about waking up with him to make him feel good. Michael tried not to let it get him down as he moved around the kitchen, picking up a bowl to crack the eggs into, and setting a pan down on the stove. Eggs, sausage, fruit… that sounded good. He set a second pan down on the stove and turned the heat to medium before pulling open the fridge to grab the food.
