“Okay,” I sigh.
“Take care of my girl, Derek. I’m trusting you,” Adrian says with a warning in his tone.
“I will,” he replies. “We will be there soon.”
By the time they get off their call, I am mostly asleep. I gasp and jolt awake when I feel hands on my face, but I relax when I see Brent standing at my door. I tear up, and he takes my seat belt off before carefully scooping me into his arms to carry me.
“You’re safe,” he says softly. “Marisol cleaned the room, so I’ll take you up there.”
“Derek is nice,” I mutter.
“He’s actually a dickhead,” Raul says humorously.
“Rude,” Derek laughs.
When we get up to the bedroom, Brent lays me down. Adrian sits beside me before leaning down to hug me. I wrap my arms around him and hold him as silent tears shake through him. No one says a word, even when he pulls back and wipes his face. Raul sits with me and does the same thing, but leans back and smiles at me.
“I’m glad you’re okay, Alania,” he says sweetly. “We are going to fucking kill him for this.”
“That sounded so sweet, but so violent,” I murmur.
“Sleep, Little Dove,” Adrian says as he leans down and kisses my forehead. I grunt when I feel something stab into my arm.
“You stabbed me,” I frown and blink at whoever is holding my arm. “Where did you come from?”
“She’s been in and out of it since she woke up,” Derek says.
“Was she given anything?” the man asks.
“Am I speaking English?” I ask quietly.
“It’s an IV, baby. That is Dr. Hammel. He was your surgeon. You’re dehydrated, but he’s worried about internal bleeding.”
“Alania,” Dr. Hammel says. “I’m going to sedate you. Your partners will stay right here with you. I need to do a portable belly scan to check for bleeding, but it’s going to hurt, so having you asleep will be easier on you. Okay?”
“Mkay,” I say quietly as my eyes close. “Don’t fuck me.”
“No one is going to hurt you ever again, Little Dove,” Adrian says. I feel his hand on my cheek, his scent is surrounding me, and I feel safe. I sense Brent and Raul, too. They all have their hand on me, gently soothing me back into a drug-induced sleep.
Chapter Forty
Adrian
“So?” I ask asI watch Alania sleep peacefully.
“Uh… I don’t see anything. I think she’s good,” Dr. Hammel says. “Do you know what all happened, Derek?”
“Uh. Basically everything. His men assaulted her vaginally and orally, but they either had a condom on or pulled out. Dad got there when she woke up, and it was vaginal but ended up raping her anally. He basically forced her to come. He cleaned her up and left. When I got in there, she was out of bed and trying to find clothes. She eventually let me help her, and I took her out. Ijust told Dad she was mine and I was taking her. It will buy you at least a few days, but you need to get shit together now.”
“Well, medically, she’s okay,” Dr. Hammel says. “Make sure she doesn’t lay around in bed, but she still needs to be resting. The stitches will dissolve and the glue will come off on its own.”
“Thank you,” I say.
“I left all of her medications with Marisol. Call me if you need anything,” he says. When he leaves, I sit back with Alania and watch her for even breaths, praying I never have to witness them stop again.
“Does she know she had to be resuscitated?” I ask.
“She never mentioned it,” Derek. “She hasn’t really said much at all.”
