“I’m his friend.” Sloane cuts me off.
Margot’s eyebrows bunch together, no doubt confused. “Oh, I’m sorry, I just thought…well, Mom mentioned something about Ledger’s girlfriend, and while I didn’t believe her at first, I truly haven’t ever seen him with someone, and I thought…”
“Oh no, I’m not his girlfriend.” Sloane giggles.
Something about that enrages me. Girlfriend seems like such an inferior title to what she actually is. Honestly, there isn’t a word in the English language that does her justice. Lover, fiancée, even wife all pale compared to the hold she has on my soul.
“No, she’s justmine. In fact, we were just discussing that. Isn’t that right,Angel?”
We stare at each other for what feels like forever. The heat in her eyes is rising, and it’s not from anger. I know if I pulled her out of this room right now and dragged us to the en suite restroom, I could have her. From the look in her eyes, she would let me take her against the wall raw and hard.
“Okay, weirdo.” My sister interrupts the moment as well as my thoughts. “Anyway, Sloane, it’s so nice to meet you! I know Ledger mentioned it earlier, but my name is Margot. I’m his sister.” Margot tosses her things down in the seat below us,then sits in the chair beside me before calling Henry over to meet Sloane.
The moment Sloane sees Henry, her face turns beet red. He has no idea she saw him that night in the club, but I’m sure she’s embarrassed, nonetheless.
“Hello, Sloane. It’s very nice to meet you. I’m Henry. I hope Ledger hasn’t slandered my name beyond repair. Lies, no doubt.”
She laughs. “Hi Henry! I’m Sloane. I’m Ledger’s—”
“Not girlfriend,” Margot interrupts, causing more laughter to spill from me and the girls. If Henry is confused, he doesn’t show it. That perfectly built wall never breaks for a moment. Instead, he just waits for the explanation I’m sure he knows is coming.
I wrap my arm around Sloane again, pulling her into me and giving the top of her head a gentle kiss as I see Jack sidle up beside Henry.
“Henry, this is absolutely the one and only woman I’m in averycommitted relationship with.”
Shock fills everyone’s face except Jack's. “Oh shit! You must be Sloane!”
He all but yanks her to stand and gives her a gigantic bear hug. The shocked look on her face is something straight from the comics, causing Margot and me to start laughing again.
“This is Jack, Ledger’s lifelong best friend,” Henry explains. “And I assure you, whatever wild tales Ledger has told you about him are all very much true.”
She smiles at that and returns Jack's hug. “It’s very nice to meet you, Jack. It’s very nice to meeteveryone.I really haveheard so much about you. I can tell you mean a great deal to Ledger.”
At that, the game begins, and everyone takes their seat, leaving Sloane and me to sit alone in the back.
I move my hand to her thigh, playing with the hem of her dress. “So how do you like the car?”
“You mean the tank?” She shakes her head. “It’s too much is what it is. But…it’s very nice. I haven’t gotten used to the size of it, though.”
I smirk, sliding my hand up higher on her leg. “Oh, we’ll get you used to the size, don’t you worry.”
“Ledger!” she whisper-yells, slapping me lightly on my bicep. “I’m talking about the car, not your, yourdick.”
I remove my hand from her thigh and take her hand, guiding it to the bulge in my pants. “Oh? Does my little virgin really think she doesn’t need time to adjust to all this dick?” I whisper into her ear. “If that’s the case, we can go to that bathroom in the corner right now, and you can show me how you can take my cock like the good girl I know you are.”
I pull back to look in her eyes, and just as I thought, her pupils are dilated. We stay locked in a trance for a moment before she lets out a breath and shakes her head.
“Really, thank you for the car. I don’t even know how to respond to a gesture like that.”
Acknowledging this isn’t the time or place to deflower my maiden, I move her hand from my increasingly interested dick and give it a little kiss before throwing my arm around her and holding her tight to me. Before long, she has her head on my shoulder, and we’re lost in the game.
Halftime is an event, I’ll say that much. Between all the champagne and cake, everyone is either high on sugar, alcohol, or both. Everyone is in good spirits, though, even Henry.
Jack has his arm around Margot, and they’re hunched over, laughing. “Come on, Henry, you were way better than that guy tossing the ball around down there.”
Henry rolls his eyes. He was truly a once-in-a-lifetime talent, but Dad was insistent that he run the business. He let him have his fun in college, but going pro was out of the question. Besides, who needs to play on a team when you can own it instead? Or at least that’s what Dad always said. When Henry graduated from college, Dad bought him the team that he was supposed to be drafted to. It was the first asset he sold when Dad passed away.
“Oh! You played here?” Sloane asks.
