I want to punch him, but I keep my calm.

Lux can speak for herself.

Her eyes dart to Sebastian, then to me, before returning to Rich. Knowing she’s safe with us around to step in if she needs it, she approaches the side of the bed. I’m taken back when she bends, bringing her face only an inch away from his.

“Remember me now?” she taunts.

I watch in fascination as she slowly reveals her identity to him.

Rich’s eyes widen in shock. “You?”

“The woman from the last cabin. The one you left to die with the others.”

His face transforms into something more sinister. “You were the one Andrew wanted. He had his eye on you the entire time we were at the club.”

I catch the sharp rise and fall of Lux’s chest, but she remains in control of her emotions. “Yes.”

Rich chuckles. “Andrew was so protective of you. I was supposed to be learning from him that weekend, but all he let me do was paint your pretty little body.”

Her shoulders square as she swallows hard.

How long I will let this go on before I intervene?

But he seems to volunteer useful information. My gaze flies to Sebastian, who raises his hand in the air as if trying to settle me.

“What do you mean Andrew picked me out at the club?” she asks.

His upper lip arches with annoyance. “When he saw you on the dance floor, he about lost his shit. Said his plans were about to get sweeter.”

Did he know something about Lux?

Was she not just a random woman they picked up?

“What does that mean?” Her tone becomes rushed. She might be losing her composure.

“I was on my way back to the cabin to finish you off, even though Andrew instructed to leave you alive.” Rich licks his bottom lip.

They left her alive on purpose?

Everything goes black around me when my knuckles collide with the side of his face, sending his head whipping in the opposite direction, and blood splatters the wall.

Lux yelps, throwing her hands over her mouth, but doesn’t retreat.

“Where is the next location?” I demand.

“Why would I tell you, Thompson?” he snaps.

“Answer the fucking question!”

“Hey.” Lux places her hand on my arm, attempting to calm me.

I clamp my eyes shut, then regain my wits again. “Tell us where the next location is.”

“You were supposed to be in on it, Thompson. Did you already forget that no one is aware of location until Andrew tells us? He didn’t make a move, so I picked my own place. Besides, what is this? What are you trying to do?”

“Making sure you don’t hurt any more women,” Lux intervenes in a delicate voice.

“Oh yeah?” He clips. “Was this your plan all along, Thompson?”
