Stalker Problems - Chapter 65 - A Kool-Aid Proposal
Friday – June 2, 2023
Oh my God. Oh my God!Was he about to propose? If so, it was way too soon. Right? We’d only known each other for like two months. And been dating for 24 hours. Although he had been stalking me for a while before that. Or I’d been stalking him. Or whatever. We never could agree on that.
I laughed nervously and pressed my arms against my body to try to stop myself from sweating. It didn’t work. And my throat was suddenly dry because all the liquid in my body was heading straight to my armpits. I downed the rest of my Kool-Aid.
“Open it,” he said.
My fingers were shaking as I unwrapped the tiny package. Yup, definitely a ring box. This was insane.Hewas insane. But maybe I was insane too. Because I kind of wanted this. Nope, Idefinitelywanted it. Part of me was terrified about moving too quickly. But the other half of me just knew. Tanner was it for me. He was the one. I could imagine a forever with him so easily. Could he see it too? I expected to look up and find him on one knee. Or for him to at least snatch it from my hand so he could present it properly. But nope. He just stood there, watching me expectantly.
I flipped the lid open and…Oh.It wasn’t a ring. Which was probably for the best. It was too soon. Way too soon. I swallowedhard and looked back down at the box. Actually, it wasn’t jewelry at all. Instead it was a key and a flash drive.
I pushed the key aside and focused on the drive. “Another copy of my sex tape?” I asked.Oh no. He watched it.“Did you like what you saw?”Shit. Had I just said that out loud? My stupid dry throat was speaking by itself. I slid off the barstool and poured myself more Kool-Aid.
He smiled. “It’s not another copy. Your first Society wish was for shoes and revenge on Joe, remember?”
What was with me and terrible wishes? “Right. So you stole his credit card and used it to buy tons of Odegaards. Boom. Done.” Revenge was best served with Kool-Aid.
Tanner nodded. “That was the original plan. But after I found out about him blackmailing you, it felt woefully insufficient.”
“So…what’s this?”
He hit a button and part of the counter flipped up to reveal some sort of built-in computer screen. “See for yourself.” He plugged the flash drive into a USB port on the side of the screen. Windows Media Player popped up and video footage of a hotel room started rolling.
Sierra was straddling Joe on the bed, her long (and very fake) red hair falling over some tight workout clothes.
“Okay, two questions,” I said. “One, why do you have a creepy surveillance video of Joe and Sierra? And two, why would you think that I’d want to see this?”
“Just keep watching. And make sure the sound is on.”
I turned the volume up.
“Are you sure we should be doing this?” asked Sierra. “Didn’t you just get engaged?”
Wait, what?I squinted and looked harder at the girl. It looked like Sierra. Long red hair. Impossibly small waist. Huge boobs. But it wasn’t her. This girl must have just gone to the same plastic surgeon as her.
“Maybe,” replied Joe as he squeezed her ass. “But what my fiancée doesn’t know won’t hurt her. And anyway…we’re not married yet. So it’s not technically cheating.” He unbuttoned his shirt and threw it on the ground.
“Damn,” said the girl, running her hand along his mediocre abs. “Your future wife is one lucky girl.”
“Not as lucky as me.”
“Because of your engagement? Or because you get to touch these?” She pulled her sports bra over her head.
Joe laughed and squeezed her breasts. “What do you think?”
God, he was disgusting.
The girl slithered down until she was kneeling in front of him. “Ever been blown by a Cali girl before?”
“Nope.”
I turned to Tanner. “I really don’t want to see this.”
“Trust me. You do.” He pointed back to the screen.
I reluctantly looked back.
