“Oh, fuck this. I’ll just drink the fucking tap,” I whisper to myself as I switch the handle up for the sink faucet. Leaning forward, I open my mouth and gulp down the water, quenching my thirst.
“Glasses above the sink. Unless that’s your preferred method of drinking water, then, by all means, continue.” Startled by the unexpected voice, I start to choke on the water, removing myself from underneath the faucet. Quickly, I gather myself and catch Dario staring at me. I look down and see that droplets of water trail down from my mouth to my bare torso.
Clearing my throat, I say, “I was looking everywhere for them, but couldn’t find any, so I decided to just go for it.” Dario smiles, and it makes him look so fucking sexy. His chest is exposed and has on the tightest of boxers, revealing his extra-large cock. I continue scanning the rest of his body and spot his chest filled with large tattoos. The prayer hands and beads are ironic, considering he kills for a living. But I know Catholicism runs deep in Mexicans, especially the older generation, so I’m assuming it’s to appease his family. Who knows? Maybe he’s a practicing Catholic. But for some reason, he doesn’t give off that vibe.
“Want a closer look,mi sol?” Dario chuckles, interrupting my obvious perusal of his body.Fuck.Could I have made it more evident that I perhaps have a little crush on this dangerous man? Shaking my head, I realize that he called me by a nickname.
“Mi sol?” I ask.
“It meansmy sun,” Dario answers.
“Yeah, I know what it means. But why did you call me that?” Dario approaches me and cages me against the counter. Heplasters his body on me, moving his face closer towards mine. And just when I think he’s going to kiss me, he reaches above me, grabbing a glass from the cabinet. The sexual tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife, and fuck, if my dick doesn’t come back to life.
“You’re like the sun. The warmth and joy you radiate is so vibrant. Being in your presence for too long might get someone burned, but it’s worth the risk for even just a moment of the happiness you bring. I see it when you’re with Willow. You care for others so fiercely. I know you, Sonny,” Dario admits. My heart bursts with an overwhelming feeling. I don’t know how to feel. This man.His words are on the verge of bringing me straight to my knees. I’d let him use my body however he pleases.
“I think I might’ve scared you. Let’s go ahead and change the subject; I don’t want to overstep. You’ve been through a lot tonight. How are you doing after letting it sit for a while?” Dario reaches around me and opens the faucet, emitting the filtered water into his glass. Bringing it to his mouth, he keeps his eyes on me, without breaking eye contact, and gulps it down.
“No, you didn’t scare me. That’s just the most beautiful thing someone’s ever said to me. I don’t even know why I’m saying this, but I haven’t had much luck in relationships. Is it odd that I don’t regret it? That I don’t have any emotions about what I did? I just feel for my poor mother and care about how she feels about it,” I answer. Dario places the glass on the counter and backs away, granting me space.
“You haven’t had much luck in relationships? Well, it’s their loss. You’re a catch, Sonny. Anyone would be lucky to have you. And it’s not odd. Your feelings are valid, and they’re yours. Nobody grieves the same way.”
“Anyone, huh? Too bad you’re off the market,” I blurt, immediately bringing my hand to my mouth and closing my eyes, mentally killing myself for even saying that. I’m never one to be this bold. What has gotten into me?
“I didn’t realize you were interested,mi sol. Are you?” he asks. I open my eyes, shocked at his response to my outburst. Dario treads forward like he’s on the hunt, his hazel eyes filled with lust and ready to eat me alive.
“I-I…It’s not possible. You’re already in a relationship with Niccolo, and from what I saw earlier, you’re in one with Isabella and Catalina, as well.”
“Spying on us, baby?” He chuckles, his eyebrow raised in interest with for answer.
“No. No. No. I’m sorry, I was on my way to get a glass of water when I saw your door cracked open and heard moaning from the hall.”
“Is that right? It’s okay, I don’t mind. They don’t either. Now, I didn’t ask if it was possible. I asked if you are interested. So what is it?” he asks.
“Yes. Yes, I am. I know I shouldn’t, and I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel this pull to you. All of you. I can’t describe it. I don’t know. Maybe it’s all in mine and Willow’s hea—”
“You’re so cute when you’re rambling. And you’re not alone in the way you feel. We feel it, too. It might be crazy because we’re all in a relationship, but we want to explore something with you. Both of you. I’m glad Willow feels the same.” Dario raises his hand, grabbing my chin and bringing my face toward him. I close my eyes and feel his breath as he hovers over me. My body tingles as his body heat envelops me, the woodsy scent of his body wash overtaking my senses. Staying still, I feel Dario inch closer and lightly kiss my cheek.
“I wish I could do more, but that will have to do for now. I have to discuss this with the girls and Niccolo.” Stunned by his words, I look into his eyes with his hand still around my chin, his thumb softly grazing my lip.
“Of course. Well, I better get back to sleep. I need to be up early to take Willow back home and visit my mother,” I exclaim, quickly moving away from his presence and towards the hallway.
“I arranged for your car to be here. Just notify one of the guards outside and they’ll show you where it is. Don’t worry, baby. We’ll talk more soon.”
“Thank you. For everything.”
“Of course, anytime. Good night, Sonny,” Dario states. Momentarily, I turn my head to face him.
“Good night, Dario,” I whisper. As I return to the room, I’m filled with even more thoughts flying in my head than I had before entering the kitchen.
There’s no way Dario meant what he said, right? How would a relationship with the six of us work? I just don’t see that ever happening. After tonight, I have a feeling I’ll never talk to him again.
We Must Be Killers by Mikky Ekko
Whata whirlwind of a night. It started as something fun for Sonny and I to enjoy a night out, since we both had the night off from work. Everything that transpired plays on repeat in my head. From Frank cheating on Sonny’s mom, him killing a worker from the club, Sonny killing his father, and the vibe we felt from the core four, it was just all a blur.
Waking up at 7:00 a.m., we redressed in our original clothes and spotted a guard outside our room, waiting to take us to Sonny’s 2024 blacked-out BMW M4. Sonny and I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. He dropped me off at our apartment and raced to his mother’s house before she woke up. I wanted to be there for them, but I had a shift at noon and needed asmuch rest as possible before I had to leave again. He kissed me goodbye and promised to update me on anything he needed.
I snooze my alarm, grunt with exhaustion, and throw my covers off as I slide off my bed. Grabbing my glasses off my side table, I put them on and do my morning stretches. Opening my curtains, I see the city below me and all the twinkling lights shine brightly. The beautiful sun shines brightly in the sky. I grab my yoga mat and place it beside the expansive window facing the view. Working through my stretches, I take a few moments in child’s pose to collect my thoughts. My alarm is right on cue, ringing once again to let me know it’s time to get dressed, get ready to go, and make my lunch before work. I’m only going for a few hours since I need to work the graveyard the next day.
