I’m like a man lost, but I don’t care. Being with Eden feels too fucking good to ever be wrong.
Sagging against the wall, I press a kiss against her ear and sigh. I don’t think I’ve ever come like that. Not even with the only woman I’ve ever loved.
I finally lift my head to look at her and see her smiling. That’s a good sign. “That was fucking amazing.”
Not exactly my smoothest line, but I am honest. At least sometimes I am.
“I think we can safely say that the reports are true about you,” she says with a giggle. “I think I might need some time to recover.”
“I aim to please,” I say as I gently set her on her feet.
Eden stands on her tiptoes and kisses me sweetly on the lips. “You succeed.”
I don’t say this to her, but I think I might be falling for her. That’s not possible, right? I’m a man who loves being single. Then why do I feel like I don’t want to live without her after today?
Best to keep that to myself. For now, at least.
I openmy eyes and see Eden’s black hair spread out across my chest. I touch it and marvel at how soft it is.
She lifts her head and pushes her hair back off her face so she can see me. “Hey. Good morning.”
Her black eye is even worse this morning, but somehow, she looks even more beautiful than usual. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“It’s okay. I felt something touching my head. Was that you?”
I smile at how she doesn’t pull any punches. I do love a woman who speaks her mind. I’d bet most women I’ve been with wouldn’t have been that direct at this moment, but it’s quintessential Eden.
“Yeah. I don’t know why I wanted to touch it. Your hair’s really soft.”
She sits up and smiles down at me. “Thanks. I use this special stuff that has actual vanilla bean in it.”
Now that she mentions that, her hair does smell like vanilla. I’ve always loved that scent.
“So, we slept together.”
The way she says that sounds ominous, like something terrible is going to happen now. I thought we had a good time. If the soreness in my legs is any indication, we had a damn good time.
“Uh-huh.”
Eden leans down and presses a soft kiss to my lips. “By the way, I had to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and I can tell you your ex wasn’t wrong.”
I smile at how cute she sounds right now. “Walking funny?”
Just as I think she couldn’t be more incredible, she blushes and looks down at the sheets. “Yeah.”
Unsure if that means no sex this morning, I sit up, propping the pillows behind me against the headboard. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to say I’m sorry for that.”
She smiles and shakes her head. “Not at all. You did say you would do all you could to make sure I walked funny after sex with you, and you definitely did that. I just think I might need a little time to recuperate.”
Okay. No sex this morning.
We fall into an awkward silence until she runs her hand over my stomach, instantly making me even harder than my morning erection already had. She looks at it and then up at me.
“Are you always ready to go?”
I shrug and answer, “It’s a guy thing. We’re always ready to go.”
Eden blushes again, charming me even more. “I wish I could. Really, I do. It’s just that we had a lot of sex last night, Marius. I’m going to need a day to recover. You should take that as a compliment, though, since if you weren’t the size you are, I’d be raring to go right now.”
