As he took another bite of ice cream, Iglanced down the hall toward the bedrooms. “Mine or yours?”
Scott stilled, and it seemed like the onlymovement he made was swallowing his bite of ice cream. Finally, he glanced overat me again. “Yours? You have a better mattress.”
He made me smile. “Logical. I like that.”
Scott shrugged. “At least I didn’t say Iwas a vampire.”
I groaned. “I didn’t say I was a vampire.”
His lips tightened, and I knew he wasfighting the urge to smile. “I might have to do some research and double-check.”
“How?” I stopped pretending to eat my icecream and gave him a suspicious look. “Is this the updated version of asking meto play doctor? I fell for that once, so I have to warn you that I’m a littlebit suspicious.”
Scott giggled. “Yep, we can play doctor tosee if you’re human.”
I grinned but shook my head. “Dare said wecouldn’t come. So your exam can’t be too thorough.”
Scott sighed dramatically and set his bowldown on the coffee table. “I guess I’ll just have to take my chances tonightand examine you tomorrow when Dare comes over.”
“Thanks for being brave.” My tone was dry,but my dick thought the idea was interesting.
Not that I was planning on confessing to Darethat I wanted them to play doctor with me—or in this case, vampire doctor. Ihad a feeling it wouldn’t be as funny if I tried to explain it later. Somethings just made you sound nuts later, not amusing and interesting.
Scott gave me a teasing grin. “I wouldn’tsay I’m brave…but I have to admit I am getting a little curious.”
I had a feeling we weren’t talking aboutvampires anymore.
“Dare doesn’t seem like the type of guy whowould mind you being curious…me neither.” I hoped he understood that no matterwhat he was curious about, I would be okay with it. But I had a feeling he wassubtly referring to the fact that he hadn’t bottomed before.
It wasn’t my thing, but I knew from apractical standpoint that a lot of people liked it. Something about the look onhis face as he’d talked about it the other day said that he was pretty sure he’dlike it too.
Scott’s smile turned sweeter, and hestretched his neck to give me a quick peck on the lips. “Thank you.”
Before I could decide what to say, and howto turn the conversation around toward the bedroom, Scott spoke again. “Youready for bed?”
Yes!
“Yeah, let me just take care of the bowlsand I’ll meet you in my room.” Pleased that I sounded somewhat functional, Ileaned over and gave him another kiss before standing up.
Scott didn’t try to hide the longing in hiseyes as he watched me walk toward the kitchen. It was an expression I’d neverthought I’d see on his face when he looked at me. He wanted me. He wanted me tohold him.
By the time I rinsed off the bowls andheaded back into the living room, he was gone. I found myself holding my breathagain as I walked toward my bedroom. The apartment was small, so I didn’t haveto go very far before I heard him moving around.
He was in my room.
Relief washed through me that he hadn’tchanged his mind. It was probably stupid, but for a few seconds, all kinds of worrieshad flooded through me. The handful of steps from the living room to my bedroomnever felt longer. As I turned the corner, I saw the most incredible sight—anervous but naked Scott waiting for me on my bed.
“You’re really hot, you know that?” Thathad sounded smoother in my head, but Scott laughed and the tension in the roomfaded.
He leaned back on his hands and gave me ateasing grin. “Are you going to draw me like one of your French girls?”
Thatwas amovie reference I actually knew. “Only if you’re into stick figures.”
Scott burst out laughing as I pulled myT-shirt over my head and tossed it toward the pile of dirty clothes in thecorner. He shook his head at my messy tendencies, but his eyes never left mybody as I slowly took off my clothes.
It wasn’t exactly a striptease, but itfelt…intimate. If it hadn’t been for Dare’s instructions, I probably would havechickened out and changed clothes in the bathroom, but when we were supposed tosleep naked, there was no point in hiding from him.
Besides, he was my boyfriend, so I didn’thave to hide from him.
