The look on his face said he wasn’tfrustrated, but I could tell he needed more. Reassurance, maybe? “There are aninfinite number of variations on a BDSM lifestyle. Ours won’t look like anyoneelse’s, and not just because there are three of us. Dare’s and mine won’t looklike yours and his, and ours won’t look the same either.”

Ryan’s smile widened. “You’re quotingagain.”

I liked information. There was nothingwrong with that. “Yes.”

Then he cocked his head and gave me acurious look. “Ours?”

“Huh?” I wasn’t sure what he meant.

“You listed off the BDSM relationships we’dhave, and you included us in one.” He said that like it was significant, but Istill didn’t get it.

“Yes.” It was hard to talk with him lookingat me, so I went back to focusing on the stats that were flashing across thescreen. It wasn’t as good as texting, but it was better than watching Ryanwhile I talked. “You and I will end up…doing stuff. If we both like dominationand submission, I think that will end up coming across in our relationship witheach other as well as with our relationship with Dare.”

Wouldn’t it?

Would we be vanilla together but only kinkywith Dare?

That’d probably work, but I had a hard timepicturing it. But there were still a lot of things I had a hard time picturing,so I wasn’t really worried. Ryan and I would work it out. We hadn’t come thisfar this fast to be stumped by something vanilla.

When Ryan stayed quiet a little too long, Ifinally gave in and turned my head just enough that I could see him out of thecorner of my eye. He was watching me like he’d never seen me before. It wasweird.

“What?” It might have come out a bit moredefensively than I’d intended, but again, Ryan just smiled.

“I hadn’t thought about it that way.”

Duh. That was obvious.

He didn’t sound like the idea bothered him,so I stopped pretending to follow the program and turned back to Ryan. “And?”

He was making me nervous.

“And I like it.” He licked his lips, and ashe shifted, it felt like his entire body got closer to mine even though I wasn’tsure he actually moved. “And I like you too.”

Then he finally leaned in and pressed hislips to mine.

Chapter 2

Ryan

Part of me felt like it shouldn’t have beenthat hard to decide what to do. But as I moved back from the brief press oflips, I realized that was wrong. Just because we knew what we wanted didn’tmake it easy.

But that didn’t mean it wouldn’t be worthit, though. “Is it okay if I kiss you again?”

There were so many things I wanted andneeded bouncing around in my head, but the one that stood out at that momentwas that I wanted to be comfortable with him. There were so many parts of ourlife where I just knew what he was thinking and what he wanted, but this wasdifferent. It felt like I couldn’t trust my instincts when it came to Scott, and that felt wrong.

His smile seemed cautious at first, thenwidened as he leaned closer to me. “I couldn’t decide if you wanted to kiss meor not.”

Had he been thinking about it because I’dacted weird or had he been thinking about kissing me too?

I decided not to question it. “I did. So Idid.”

Scott chuckled. “So eloquent.”

Ignoring his teasing, since he didn’t seemto mind, I let my hand finally wrap around his neck and pulled him closer. Myfingers had itched to really touch him since we’d first sat down, and thebarest caress I’d given him hadn’t been enough.

This kiss was heated and the hesitancy frombefore was gone. I tried not to focus on the fact that this was the first timeI’d kissed him without Dare’s prompting since our date. I didn’t want tooverthink it, but I also didn’t want to focus on regrets.

When I finally pulled away, I nibbled onhis lower lip before releasing him. “I love how you taste.” That didn’t soundquite right, so I forced myself to continue. “I mean, not like a vampire or anything, but I just…you taste like you.”
