I was good at talking to people…well, aslong as submission wasn’t involved, evidently. If I was calling one of my funnyold ladies, I’d have done it already. Instead, I was taking up real work timeby putting off a phone call to my boyfriend.

I finally got to the point where I wasfrustrated with myself and just picked up the phone. Instead of just textinglike I should have to begin with, I called Dare. His schedule had been all overthe place, but I was pretty sure I remembered him saying that Wednesdayafternoon he wouldn’t be working.

As the phone rang, I refused to let myself disconnectand look ridiculous. Standing up, I walked over to the corner where my onelittle window looked out over the parking deck. Whoever said the corner officewas fabulous had never worked in a renovated building that was almost onehundred years old.

It gave the firm prestige and looked great, but some of the offices were oddly shaped. Not that I should complain; justgetting an office that looked out overanythinghad been a sign I wasdoing well. Some of the guys who’d started around the same time as me werestill stuck at desks out in the open and were sharing an assistant with fourother brokers.

Dare finally picked up the phone as I wasgetting ready to hang up. “Hey, handsome, how are you doing?”

I chuckled. “Hungry. So I thought I’d seeif you wanted to have dinner after I get off work.”

Dare gave a low hum that made me shiver. The office was normally where I felt the most in charge and in control of mylife, but hearing Dare’s voice made it hard to remember that. “Are you askingyour boyfriend out for a date or are you trying to proposition your Dom?”

He was too smart.

I took a deep breath. “Both. Dinner first, then we’ll see.”

I wasn’t sure if being at work gave me moreconfidence about what I wanted or if it was the fact that I couldn’t sayanything too explicit, but it felt easier to admit it.

Dare gave a low chuckle that had mefighting the urge to moan. “Don’t you meanI’llsee? Isn’t that what mysexy-in-his-suit sub wants?”

“Yes.” It came out ragged and husky, butDare’s moan let me know he loved the need in my voice.

“Good boy.” He’d either been bored orthinking about me because his voice was filled with desire, and I could almosthear the dirty things that were running through his head. “I’m going to makeyou keep that suit on. I can’t wait to have you kneeling for me, looking sovanilla and traditional.”

I had a feeling I’d never look at mywardrobe the same way after he got done with me.

I had to swallow hard to get the words out.“I think that will work.”

He gave a wicked laugh. “So proper, eventhough we’re talking about wicked things. I can’t wait to corrupt my sexy stockbrokerlater.”

I couldn’t wait either.

“I…” I had to stop and take a slow breaththen start again. “I’m looking forward to it.”

That just had that wicked laughter startingagain. “When do I get to start corrupting you?”

I glanced down at my watch. “Um, I’ve gotabout two hours before I can get out of here. How about I meet you at about sixat that seafood place you mentioned the other night?”

Ryan wasn’t big on seafood of any kind, soif it was just going to be Dare and me, it sounded good.

Dare’s voice was still filled with laughter, but it wasn’t as erotic. “Do you remember Ryan’s face when I mentioned it?”

It was my turn to laugh. “He doesn’t eveneat fish sticks.”

Tuna commercials on TV made him gag. It wasfunny.

Dare chuckled. “Sounds good, then. We’ll goenjoy it and then drive Ryan crazy with the fact that we ate something gross.”

I had to laugh. “You’re terrible.”

I could hear the grin in Dare’s voice.“I’ll tell him that if he’s very good, I’ll pretend we went and got hamburgers.See? That’s not mean.”

“Devious. You are a very devious…man.” Weboth knew what I wanted to say there, but I wouldn’t take the chance at work. The place looked great, but the walls could be thin and sounds seemed to carryat the oddest times, depending on what the air conditioner was doing.

“But you love it.” He almost purred thewords out, and something about it made my heart clench as well as tightenedlower things in my body.

I knew he didn’t mean love-love, but itstill made my stomach whirl. “You’re right.”
