Dare laughed, ignoring the undercurrent or maybe just not seeing it since they were his friends. “These two keep me busy, but we’ll have to have dinner soon. We’ve been talking about going over to that Brazilian steakhouse soon; maybe we should do that together.”
The couple made polite responses, but even I could see we weren’t going to go out to dinner together.
I’d had enough brushoffs to see that coming a mile away.
Had they thought they could talk him back into being their third?
Maybe it was just about not wanting to share a toy they still thought of as theirs?
It had to be something like that because nothing in their expressions or words said we were the issue. For once, not being the most aggressive guy didn’t seem to be the problem. It was just that we’d distracted their toy that was the trouble.
Was I overthinking it?
“Well, we’ll let you get back to your evening.” Adam chuckled, giving Dare a teasing grin. “And your fun. See you later.”
As they walked away, Ryan was the one who cleared his throat. “They were nice…”
Dare laughed quietly, not offended. “I know that tone. And?”
I shrugged. “Um, they knew you weren’t going to date them again, right? I mean, I don’t always read people well outside of work, but they seemed…surprised?”
That wasn’t really the right word, but a better one hadn’t come to mind.
Ryan nodded, giving the couple another glance as they walked toward the bar. “She didn’t like seeing you with someone else.”
Dare shrugged. “There’s more than one reason I don’t call her back every time she calls.”
I was glad he wasn’t just assuming we were jealous or overprotective.
“Adam didn’t seem to notice, though. He was nice.” I could see why Dare had been drawn to him. He didn’t come across as really dominant, so that probably would’ve appealed to Dare.
“Yeah.” Dare leaned over and gave me a quick kiss before curling back into Ryan’s embrace. “But compromising isn’t either of their strong suits, and I have two wonderful boyfriends now, so if she can’t move past it, I’m not going to worry about it. She knew it was over a long time ago.”
After a pause, he gave us a serious look. “Did I make you question that?”
Smiling, I squeezed his legs as I shook my head. “No. She was weird, but that was on her.”
Ryan kissed his cheek, hugging Dare tight. “No, just the look on your face when you told her we were yours was…it was really sweet.”
Dare gave us both a beaming smile before he leaned over and gave me another tender kiss. As he sat back and treated Ryan to an equally sweet but still scorching kiss, I took a moment and just watched the two of them together.
They were sexy and beautiful, but what struck me wasn’t how erotic they were or what the people around us might think…the only thing that really stuck with me was how right we all felt together.
When they finally eased apart, and Dare curled into Ryan’s chest, his head on our boyfriend’s shoulder, I knew what he was going to say. “I think it’s time to get home. I want to cuddle with my boys.”
That was definitely a plan I could get on board with.

“Uh, one of us needs to get a bigger shower so we all fit.” Dare came out of the bathroom with his towel around his hips and a frustrated expression that looked so fucking sexy I wanted to kneel right there. “I should be able to wash both of you if I want to.”
He might be right, but I was dreaming about a bigger bed if we were going to do anything. None of us had a mattress big enough for the three of us to snuggle comfortably.
“Yeah.” Ryan inched closer, hungrily watching a trail of water that was wandering down Dare’s chest. “You have a point.”
Dare chuckled, moving closer and pressing a kiss to Ryan’s lips. “That would be more believable if I thought you were paying attention to my voice and not my chest.”
Ryan gave him a flirty smile as his cheeks got pink. “Um, I can do both?”
