He couldn’t seem to decide if he wanted tosmile or pout. “How much getting to know?”
Laughing, I kissed his forehead again.“Either a date or several long phone calls to get to know you better, and thenwe’ll decide what kind of scene you want to do first.”
I had family commitments on Sunday, but Icould get off work early next week. My job was flexible enough that we shouldbe able to come up with a few options that would work for him.
His eyes widened and his wiggle was pureexcitement. “I get to pick?”
“Within reason.” And within both of ourlimits, but he’d understand that. “That’s why we need to talk first.”
He nodded eagerly before a cloudyexpression crossed his face. “But…”
Keegan took a deep breath and seemed toforce the words out. “But I promised my mother I’d talk to other Doms.”
That’s right…
Taking a moment, I pushed my frustrationaway and nodded. “Yes, you did.”
Knowing her, I wasn’t going to try to talkhim out of it either. He needed to keep his promises, and I didn’t want tostart off on the wrong foot with her.
“Tonight we’ll hang out and talk, then youcan come back another time to meet a few more people.” I just wasn’t sure I wasthe right person to supervise that activity. “All I’m going to ask is that youlet Ben make the introductions and you don’t go any further than we havetonight before talking to me.”
His head cocked to the side curiously, so Itried to explain what I was thinking.
“As much as you fascinate me, I know you’renot mine yet and I’m not going to go all caveman on you.” That made him smile,so I relaxed a bit as I continued. “But I do want time to get to know you betterand for you to get to know me before you take the next step with anyone else.”
Was that too much to ask?
Keegan was quiet for a moment before henodded slowly. “I want to get to know you better. I want to have you pose forme and to go out on a date and to randomly text you just to get attention.”
He grinned as I chuckled and noddedapprovingly at his important to-do list.
“But can I ask you for one thing tonight?”The way he was nibbling on his lips was so distracting I almost forgot torespond.
Looking away from his lips, I nodded. “Yes,scamp. What do you want?”
“A kiss?” Looking deeply into my eyes, heradiated desire and something more tender. “I want to be able to remember howgood it was between us even when you’re not around.”
He was going to kill me.
“There is nothing I would love more.”Taking his lips in a slow kiss, I kept it gentle and soft as I took my timedeepening it. When I finally pulled away, he’d melted against me and had tofight to catch his breath. “I’m not going to let you forget how perfect tonighthas been, no matter what.”
I might not like the idea of Keegan meetingother Doms, but I wasn’t worried. There was a connection between us I knew neitherof us would be able to ignore.
Chapter 3
Niall
“Red.” The little spitfire who lookedvaguely familiar narrowed his gaze at Mitch and sat straighter. “That is my safeword,as well as the club’s. You are required to remove yourself from my presence.”
The princely sub didn’t seem to need thehelp, but I couldn’t stop myself from shifting in my seat to get a better viewof the situation. Mitch wasn’t paying any attention to anything else that wasgoing on and the little spitfire was completely focused on the prick in frontof him.
Probably a good idea considering that Mitchhadn’t backed off.
“But baby, I haven’t even touched you.” Mitchshook his head, leaning back and pulling up his hands in a who-me kind ofgesture. “I just wanted to get to know you a bit. I saw you the other night,and it looks like you could use a different kind of Dom since you’re all alone.It might help if you’d dressed right, baby, but that’s okay, I can see past thefrumpy clothes.”
Not falling for the first Dom to say helloto him didn’t mean the little sub needed Mitch in his life. No one needed to betortured like that.
“Your physical touch is not required for meto use my safewords.” He huffed like he shouldn’t have to explain that toanyone. “I can use that to stop any touch, conversation, or interaction that Ichoose. You have to understand that in order to be a member of the club. It’swritten very clearly in the rules that you sign to become a member.”
