Niall always looked so put together andcalm, but he was turning out to be the more dramatic of my two Doms.
When he’d stopped coughing and his colorwas back to normal, I sat down beside him. “I think you should finish eatingbefore we have any other discussions.”
Julian would not be happy with me if Iaccidentally killed Niall.
He might have tried to sound relaxed aboutthe whole thing, but it was clear that there was still a lot going on betweenthe two of them. Mom had definitely been right. If I wanted them both, theywere going to have to work through a few things first.
But they were lucky.
While I might not be patient, I wascreative and persistent, which were even better traits to have in a partner.
“I’m fine.” Niall was clearly not fine, butI pretended to believe him.
Patting his thigh, I smiled. “I’m sure youare.”
I was going to have to practice lookingmore believable if his snort was anything to go by. However, since I couldstill see Julian in the back of my mind ready to lecture me about accidentallymaking Niall choke to death, I wasn’t going to let Niall talk me into any moreconversations until there was nothing for him to choke on.
Or spray with water.
Taking a piece of pizza, I started eatingso he couldn’t question me. He seemed to have guessed what I was doing, but hejust shook his head while we ate. When the food was gone and we were relaxedand sleepy, judging by the yawns that were escaping us both, Niall pulled meback into his arms.
Curling against his chest as I snuggledcloser, I sighed and tried to stay quiet until he’d figured out what he wasgoing to say. As we’d eaten, we’d kept the conversation light, talking aboutwork and silly things so he wouldn’t choke anymore.
Now it was time to be patient so he couldthink.
And I had a feeling I was supposed to bepatient since he was the Dom.
That was just a bit difficult, though.
“Logically I can see why you want all of ustogether, little spitfire, but I’m not sure it would work. Julian and I don’tseem to cooperate well.” Niall’s nickname for me made me smile, but I wasn’tsure how to react to the rest.
Was I supposed to talk around their sexproblems?
If so, that wasn’t going to work very well.
Subtle had never been my strong suit.
“What do you think was the problem betweenyou?” I wasn’t even sure if they’d really dated or if they’d just tried to seeif they’d work in bed and had called it off when that didn’t pan out.
Niall was quiet for a few long moments, buteventually he gave up and started explaining. “He wasn’t satisfied with what Icould give him.”
That seemed to be one gigantic understatement.
Instead of pointing that out, though, Italked around it. Head-on didn’t seem to do any good with Niall…and it was kindof dangerous with his propensity for choking.
“Well, I can give him the submission heneeds from a partner and I love bottoming, so there’s no problem there either.”What else…what else… “Oh, and I like the idea of the three of us in bed, butI’m very confident that I’ll be happy with just one-on-one sexual activities aswell.”
What else should I mention?
“We already know that you guys havechemistry up to a certain point so we don’t have to worry about you guys notbeing attracted to each other. That would just be awkward.” With lots of quietstares and probably very little sex.
Niall chuckled. “Yes, that would bedifficult to work around.”
Glad we were on the same page, I strokedhis chest and kissed his neck. “So all you guys have to do is agree that I’llbe the bridge and you’ll be my anchors…oh, a bridge…”
Sitting up, I glanced around. “Do you knowwhere I put my bag…I have to get this…my notebooks…”
Oh, the stairs.
