It was a legitimate question.

“Porter for now, and we’ll see how itgoes.” I was getting too many conflicting vibes from him to suggest anythingelse.

I had a feeling when it was all said anddone, I was either going to owe Conner big time or I was going to want to killhim.

Hopefully it would be simple to figure outwhich.

Gesturing toward a free pair of chairstucked into the corner, I did my best to look pleasant and non-threatening.“How about we get to know each other first?”

At the very least I needed a starting pointto know what he was interested in, and a few other things like that…like if hewas straight and if he really understood what submission meant.

As Landon nodded, I gave the guys a quickglance. They were curious but smiling, and I knew their questions weremounting.

For the time being, however, I focused onLandon and tried to push everything else that had been running around my headto the back of my mind.

It felt good.

Even if it was just for a few minutes, Ihad someone who needed my attention and needed to be important to me. With workand everything else, it’d been too long since I’d been in that situation.

Sitting down, I tried to project confidence, the way I imagined he’d pictured what a Dom should look like, but I finallysmiled. “I’m not even sure where to start. Conner’s never introduced me tosomeone like this.”

Landon actually grinned. “Me neither.”

Laughing quietly, I held out my hand.

As he shook it, still smiling, I startedover. “I’m Porter. Nice to meet you. I’ve been a Dom here at the club foryears, but it’s been a while since I was in a relationship.”

Landon relaxed back and mirrored my intro.“I’m Landon. It’s nice to meet you. This is my first time at the club andreally my first time with anything like this.”

I gestured around the room. “It’soverwhelming at first, but everyone is great.”

Then I really thought about what he’d said.“But new to the club and BDSM in general, correct?”

He paused for a moment before deciding to answer.“I explored domination with my ex.” There was another short stretch of silencebefore he continued. “But I always dominated her.”

The way he was watching me said he wasexpecting some kind of negative reaction.

I wasn’t sure which aspect he thought wouldsurprise me, so I did my best to look relaxed. “Did you ever explore switchingroles?”

My question seemed to have his brainskipping a beat because he stilled before nodding. “Once. It was very…awkward.”

I flashed him a smile. “Oh yeah, been there, done that. First boyfriend after college. We’d been exploring things with me inthe more dominant role, but he got this wild hair up his ass that we needed toswitch things up. I’m just going to say that it didn’t go well, and we didn’tlast much longer.”

Landon winced. “The drama kind of breakup?”

“Oh, much drama. Much. I think drama washis middle name. You?”

He shook his head, looking relieved. “No,the slow descent into breakup kind.”

I grimaced. “That’s harder.”

His expression said he agreed with me. “Butit helped me to figure a few things out and we’re still friends. It was for thebest.”

“That’s good.” It seemed like he was in apositive headspace, so I poked a bit more. “Is this something you’ve beenthinking about for a while?”

His grin peeked out again. “BDSM or guys?”

I chuckled. “Yes.”
