“Well, whatever we decide, we’re not givingthem duct tape. That shit is terrible to get off skin.” Silas’s answer wasslightly disturbing.
As I watched the strange chaos, I smiled.Matthew would have loved it.
Chapter 19
Wade
The smell of coffee had my brain trying tofunction, but I wasn’t sure that was a good idea since I seemed to be naked andon unfamiliar carpet.
When I heard Tanner groan beside me, Idecided I didn’t care where we were and felt that going back to sleep might bethe best idea.
“Oh no, goody-goody, time to wake up.”Griffin chuckled when I groaned. “No, time to function. If you’re good and getup so we can go back to my place, I’ll let you take a nap.”
Considering how hard the floor was, a napin a bed sounded worth getting up for.
Forcing one eye open, I shifted andstretched. Griffin was sitting beside me holding a steaming mug. He waved itback and forth in front of me. “Come on. I know you want it.”
As I moved, my head decided sitting up wasevil, so I groaned again as everything in me started pounding. “I really don’tthink I had that much to drink last night. Why is my head trying to fall off myshoulders?”
Griffin laughed. “Not that much? So it wasn’tmy quiet, polite omega crawling naked across the patio last night? What aboutthe naked omega who decided getting his portrait done in the middle of thenight was a good idea?”
Slowly shifting my head back and forth as Ireached for the cup, I grunted. “No. Not me.”
Griffin was still grinning as he movedbehind me. When I was relaxing against his chest sipping my coffee, he pointedto the wall. “Check that out.”
How had I missed it?
“Wow.” Spread over an entire wall wasclearly Jonah’s work, but my brain was having a hard time taking it all in.
Looking around, I saw Dakota near my feetand Tanner beside me. Poking them with my toes, I refused to let them sleepanymore. “Look at that.”
One by one, eyes opened and they sat up,finally seeing what Jonah had done.
It was technically us…but it was unlike anyportrait I’d ever seen him do. Dakota was stretched out on the floor writingand the passion he had for his words was etched in his face. The rest of uswere smiling and leaning against each other like we hadn’t a care in the worldand everything was perfect.
Yes, we were naked and some of theproportions seemed to be off, but it was incredible. Stretched over us was agiant pair of wings that seemed to curl around us. As I stared, I finally sawfaces in the feathers of the wings, sometimes just shadows and silhouettes, butall the alphas were there, even Matthew and Griffin.
Jonah was the last to wake and as hestared, he sighed, making all of us turn to him. “How am I going to get thatback to my studio to finish it, damn it?”
Laughter burst through the room, evencoming from the doorway where Silas, Graham, and Tristan were standing withmore mugs in their hands. Austin shrugged. “Use it as a rough sketch like youdo sometimes for the oil paintings.”
Graham was nodding as he walked over andhanded coffee to Jonah and Bradley. “Maybe do it on panels that could be put upon the wall so you can keep the scale?”
“Oh, that’s a good idea.” Jonah was stillhungover, but we could all see the spark in his eyes.
Graham grinned. “No. You have to eat first.Russ and Shane are in the kitchen in the main house making pancakes.”
Austin looked over at Silas, pouting. “Ihad the ingredients to make pancakes and you made me eat oatmeal yesterday?”
Silas snorted and pointed toward the emptymoonshine bottle on the table as he walked over and handed Austin coffee. “Isthat really how you want to start the morning?”
Austin immediately gave him a beamingsmile. “Thank you for letting me have pancakes this morning, Master.”
Giggling, I turned to Griffin and gave hima similar smile. “Thank you, Sir.”
He scoffed. “We have to feed you somethingto soak up the rest of the booze.”
Quite possibly a good idea.
