Shane stepped between us and seemed to bedoing his best not to look annoying. “I think what we’re trying to point out isthat we all saw how you felt about him at the club. Now Wade seems to be happywith where things are going and has acknowledged how he feels about you, sowe’re curious about what you’re thinking.”

“He’s said how he feels about me?” That wasnews to me.

Shane gestured around the group as a whole.“He wouldn’t have invited you here tonight if you weren’t special to him, andhe wouldn’t have submitted to you like that if he wasn’t ready to take thingsto the next level. And I don’t mean sex.”

It was Tristan’s turn to butt in next.“He’s very protective of the guys. They’re basically all he has. Well, them andus now, but he wouldn’t invite anyone, even an old friend, unless he planned onmaking them part of his life. It’s too dangerous. The wrong word here or therecould ruin most of the careers in this room plus the guys' careers.”

Silas chuckled. “Not mine and I’m prettysure Austin would be fine, but it would be hard on everyone else.”

I had to agree with that. “He knows I wouldnever say anything.”

“That wouldn’t be enough for him to bringyou here.” Tristan looked toward the back wall like he was picturing the poolhouse and our drunk subs. “This is them at their most vulnerable and where theyfeel they can really be themselves. He would never have invited you here unlesshe loved you.”

I had to fight to take a slow breath andswallow past the lump in my throat. When I finally spoke, I sounded casual.“I’m not going to rush him.”

Shane’s voice had me turning toward himover by the movie theater style chairs. “I’ve known most of them the longest.Although that’s nothing compared to their friendships. From everything they’vesaid about Matthew and Wade, Matthew would have wanted Wade to love again.”

“Wade said something along those lines andI know Matthew wasn’t the type of man who would want Wade to be miserableforever.” But there was a difference between abstract concepts and actuallyloving someone.

Wasn’t there?

Russ and Graham shared a look then turnedto me.

Russ hadn’t been that chatty earlier, so Iwas surprised when he spoke. “He’s never going to forget Matthew and he’llalways love him, but that doesn’t mean he’ll love you any less. What I havewith Graham is very different than what I have with Jonah, but it’s not lessand it’s not a competition. I think once you really understand that, thingswill fall into place easier.”

Tristan squeezed my shoulder as he walkedtoward the chairs. “I know you were friends with Matthew, so maybe just thinkabout what he would’ve wanted.”

They must have realized I’d had enoughbecause just as quickly as their lecture had started it was over and they werejostling for the best seats again. Heading toward the last row by the wall, Irelaxed back into the expensive oversized chairs and tuned everything else out.

Maybe they were right, maybe theyweren’t…but I wasn’t going to solve anything at that moment, so I let it all goand focused on the movie.

We almost finished it too.

Silas’s phone was the first to vibrate as atext message came in. I’d almost missed it in the explosions coming from thespeakers as bombs went off in the movie, but as light flashed from his screen,I knew I’d been right.

He chuckled as he read the message andturned around to look at me. He was trying to keep his voice low, but we wereall too curious at that point for it to matter. “Austin wants to know if youlike Wade’s dick the way it is or if it needs to be bigger. He says Wade’sworried about how it looks and wants to know if they should fix it.”

What the fuck?

I blinked for a second as laughter rolledaround the room. Telling anyone in the group it wasn’t their business wouldn’thave helped the situation, so I sighed. “Please tell Austin it’s a very nicecock and I would like it to be left the way it is.”

Tristan’s eyes widened as he leaned overthe chairs to get closer to me and Silas. “Did Austin say how he was going tomake Wade’s dick smaller or larger if Griffin didn’t like it?”

Silas shook his head as he responded toAustin. Just as I was starting to decide if I needed to be worried or not, myphone beeped. Digging it out of my pocket, I pulled up the message. “Wade saysto ignore that text from Austin because he knows I like his dick and it’s justthe alcohol talking.”

That didn’t answer anyone’s concerns andShane’s text message just made things weirder.

When his phone played a few chords, he dugit out and his brows pulled together. “They’re asking for a calculator and ducttape. Tanner seems to think his phone is broken because any time he tries to domath he ends up getting a Chinese restaurant.”

More laughter rolled around the room and aquick glance between us all said movie time was over. As we all stood, Shaneturned it off and we filed back upstairs. Silas turned off the pool alarm as weheaded through the quiet house and yard, which under the circumstances seemedworrying.

“Am I the only one curious about what theyneed calculators and duct tape for?” Tristan’s grin was too big for him to beconcerned, but it was clear he was thoroughly entertained.

“I think next time we do this, we need tomake sure there are no sharp objects in the pool house.” Russ seemed to be themost worried, but from what I could tell that was just part of his personality.

Silas chuckled. “Austin is not going tooperate on Wade’s dick. He doesn’t like gore.”

That was a good point.
