“Do we have any idea why they’re naked?”Leaning closer toward the patio door, I cocked my head, trying to get a betterangle. Russ grumbled something that sounded like an accusation that they werenaked just to make him crazy, but I might have misunderstood him.

“I think the better question is why arethey crawling.” Tristan was watching them like they were some kind offascinating science experiment.

“The floor.” Silas and Simon answered atthe same time.

“I think the right question is where arethey going?” Shane moved farther down the wall trying to get a better view.“Doesn’t that door go into the laundry room?”

Silas snorted. “I can guarantee Austinisn’t doing laundry.”

Well, I was finally getting to see Wadedrunk as a skunk…and he’d been right. Drinking around outsiders would have beena bad idea.

When the pool alarm had gone off in thehouse indicating someone or something had gotten too close to the water whenthe cover was off, we’d gone upstairs assuming they were trying to skinny dipdrunk.

Nope.

We’d been glad to see they weren’tdrowning, but figuring out what they were up to was now our primaryentertainment.

The movie could wait. This was much morefascinating.

“I can’t decide if we made this situationworse by moving them here or if they would still be doing something interestingright now if they were at Wade’s house.” Shane was studying them like he wastaking notes. “I’m glad he has that alarm, though.”

Silas nodded. “It’s some kind of buildingcode around here. Normally it’s off, but I turned it on earlier when they went intothe pool house.”

Very good idea.

“Okay, they’re heading in, but where arethey going and should we stop this…whatever this is?” I was clearly outvoted bythe number of snorts and chuckles.

“Fine. But does anyone know what door theywent into?” I glanced over at Silas who seemed to know the house the best. “Anyideas?”

He nodded. “I’m pretty sure that goes tothe laundry room and then from there he can split off and go toward storagerooms or up toward a den and an office he uses for work stuff. I think thatarea was supposed to be for live-in staff, but he doesn’t have any right now.”

At least it didn’t sound dangerous.

“Are we assuming they’re going to theoffice or toward the storage?” All I got were blank looks and a few shrugs.

Russ grinned. “We’re going to go see whatthey’re doing, right?”

“Of course.” Silas rolled his eyes. “WithAustin leading the way, he’s bound to be up to something.”

I was starting to understand theentertainment value that the alphas were getting out of the omegas’ night out.Wade made it sound like he was worried they were driving the alphas nuts, buthe should have been charging them admittance fees.

Silas looked around the room, glowering atall of us. “Just be quiet because if they know we’re watching then that willchange their behavior and it’ll never make sense.”

I wasn’t sure it would ever make sense nomatter what they thought they were doing.

And he realized they weren’t wild animals, right?

But since everyone else nodded and promisedto be silent, I went along with it. With Silas leading the way, we creptthrough the house, getting closer to the herd of elephants that were runninginto the walls near Austin’s office.

For whatever reason, they wanted to operatein the dark because they were thudding against the drywall and tripping overeach other as they piled single file into what seemed to be Austin’s office. Westayed at the far end of the hall, keeping silent in the dark as more randombangs and curses came from the office.

“Grab a duffel bag. I can’t crawl and carrythe paper.” That was clearly Dakota, but I still wasn’t sure what the fuck theywere doing.

“Take my stuff too. I don’t have enoughhands.” Jonah’s inebriated voice had Russ and Graham fighting not to laugh.

“Damn it. You are terrible secret agents.Be quiet.” Austin’s voice was louder than he probably realized, but it coveredour snickers and the rest of the guys shut up, so it did its job.

A few more thuds and the occasional curseseemed fairly normal by the time they were crawling out of the office withDakota holding a small bag in his teeth, but I couldn’t figure out why Austinkept apologizing to the floor. Well, the floor or some kind of imaginarycreature only he could see.
