Dakota couldn’t help himself. “You know, ifyou dated at least one of them then that wouldn’t be a problem anymore.”

Griffin rolled his eyes. “Nope, too youngfor me, and they know it. Besides, they need someone to watch over them morethan they need another sexual conquest.”

Aw, he was so cute.

“Mature subs can be fun.” Dakota gaveGriffin an odd smile. “They know what they want.”

Griffin gave a small nod. “I agree. I wanta partner, not someone I have to constantly watch over.”

The words weren’t weird, but there wassomething stilted about the conversation. “I’m sure we’ll figure it out andthen find someone for them. Wait, one for each of them or do they want a Dom toshare?”

Griffin blinked at me for a minute beforesmiling. “I’m pretty sure they just want one Dom for the both of them.”

“It shouldn’t be hard to find a nice Domfor twins. That’s a common fetish online as long as they don’t mind touchingeach other.” Dakota’s weird response had Griffin and me both looking at himoddly. “What? I can’t be the only one who knows that’s a thing.”

Griffin was just looking at him, but Icouldn’t help giggling. “Yes, we know it’s a thing, but I’m pretty sure we’renot supposed to say it.”

“Why the fuck not?” Dakota gestured aroundthe room. “We’re in a fucking BDSM club. I wasn’t judging, just pointing out afact and trying to clarify details. There are a few members who I think wouldbe looking for something like that.”

He was clearly having a lot more detailedconversations with the members than I was.

Was I supposed to be asking about thingslike that?

Griffin coughed, then nodded. “There isnothing wrong with clarifying situations. And in this case, as long as theyknew no one was judging I would think they’d be open to sharing details oftheir life. I just haven’t asked too many questions since it really isn’t myplace.”

Dakota shrugged. “Don’t worry. We’ll askquestions.”

There was no doubt about that…and Griffinseemed to realize it as well based on how hard he was trying not to laugh. “Ithought you would.”

“But we’re also good at clarifyingsituations we’re not sure about too.” Dakota’s firm stare was at odds with theconversation we were having, but I had a feeling I didn’t want to know what wasgoing through his head.

Griffin raised one eyebrow then nodded.“Clarifying things is important as long as people don’t get hurt.”

Yep, I didn’t want to know what they werethinking.

“I agree.” Dakota’s smile was stillsomewhat forced. “But sometimes ripping off the bandage is more important thanletting something fester.”

The conversation had taken a very strangeturn…and I was pretty sure he was mixing metaphors again.

Interrupting like I had no idea things wereweird between them, I smiled. “Was that the only reason you came to the clubtonight? I haven’t seen anyone else from the department, but there are a fewpeople you might know hanging around.”

The number of people who’d paid dues justto have a place to talk and to meet friends had been surprising, but I mighthave done the same if the guys hadn’t been a part of my life.

Dakota decided to be an asshole again. “I’msure there are some subs we could introduce you to. I know there were a fewinteresting omegas in the main room earlier if you don’t mind an audience.”

Griffin’s face tightened for some reason.“No. I’m good.”

I was glad he wasn’t interested in having ascene with anyone, just because that would be awkward, but Dakota’s dickishgrin said he was having evil thoughts.

“Dakota, why don’t you go check on the privaterooms again? And make sure to check on the playroom. One of the littles wasthrowing toys earlier. That’s dangerous.” They were a handful.

Unfortunately, Griffin took that to mean Iwanted to get back to work. “I’ll leave you to your job. I’ll see you later.”

As he walked off, I glared at Dakota. “Youwere an asshole.”

There hadn’t been too many specific thingsI could list off, but I still felt like telling Tristan that Dakota had been adick. He huffed. “You’re oblivious.”

He was starting to sound as insane asAustin did most days.
