Scoffing, I tried to play it off as fun andnot like his words actually meant something to me. “Fine. I’m sexy. Keepgoing.”

His cheeks pinked a bit, but he seemed lessnervous. “Thank you for your permission, Sir.”

And that was hotter than he probablyrealized.

I wagged my finger at him. “I’m sure Austinhas told you what happens to cheeky subs, if you forgot.”

His blush came back fiery and hot, but hedidn’t back down. A teasing side came out and I got a simpering nod. “Yes, Sir.I won’t forget.”

“You do that entirely too well.” I tried tokeep my voice flirty but not too serious, but again, he got that look before hepushed it away.

“I’m a very good sub. I don’t know what youmean.” The words were cute and acknowledged his submission, but he said themlike he was an affronted schoolteacher.

It was an interesting combination.

“I bet you’re a very naughty sub who justlooks very innocent.” There must have been a bit too much heat in my voicebecause his blush came back and he squirmed.

Wade shrugged and gave me a cute smile. “Myfriends are bad influences.”

I snorted. “Now that, I believe.”

“But they’re sweet.” His embarrassmentdimmed as he continued to speak. “Like Tristan and Dakota. Tristan never battedan eyelash when he realized sometimes Dakota and I would sleep together occasionally, not completely…you know…but it was just nice.”

I could understand that. “Sometimes we needsomeone there…for the intimacy, not for anything else. I’m glad he understood.”

Seeing I wasn’t judging or shocked, hecontinued. “So after they got together, sometimes we would still…well, Dakotawould include me in specific things.” He swallowed. “Noteverything, mind you, but…”

He was starting to sound like a teacher I’dhad in school.

It was kind of cute.

“I’m not going to judge you no matter whatyou’ve gotten up to, goody-goody. I’m just going to sit over here and bejealous that you’ve been having more fun than I have.” The old nickname had himgroaning, but the tension was gone.

“Ugh, don’t call me that. I was Mathew’slittle goody-goody for ages after the idiot mouthed off.” He was dramatic, butI thought it was funny.

“I’m guessing it wasn’t the alcohol you hada problem with.” Wade had been the only one to always stay completely sober atany party or event they’d gone to. Eventually one of the drunk assholes startedmouthing off that he was Matthew’s goody-goody and the name had stuck.

“No, I just have no tolerance and thestupidest things fall out of my mouth.” He sighed when I laughed. “I hang outwith the guys on a regular basis and get absolutely shit-faced. But only inprivate where I don’t have to be embarrassed about the ridiculousness of itall.”

“Oh, I’m starting to smell another storyhere.” I rubbed my hands together like a greedy collector and leaned forward.“Do tell.”

Wade laughed. “Oh no, it will take anotherdinner to bribe that out of me. I think I see a decadent Italian meal in myfuture.”

Laughing, I nodded.

Why would I fight when all I wanted in theworld was another evening with him?

Chapter 7

Wade

It was almost like being one of theteachers who watched over recess when I’d been in elementary school…except theplay here was a lot more interesting.

Make sure everyone is playing nice.

Make sure everyone remembers the rules.

Make sure everyone isn’t too hopped up onsugar to make good choices.
