Getting closer, I raised my hands. “Notgoing to flirt or ask weird questions about your personal life or aboutAustin’s personal life. We’ve all seen that on TV lately.”

The omega chuckled quietly, nodding as he pattedthe couch beside him. “Have a seat. I didn’t mean to be rude.”

I grinned. “It would take more than a gameof hide-and-seek to make anyone here question your behavior.”

He gave a low laugh and scanned the room.“But everyone has been very nice.”

“They’re on their best behavior and a fewpeople seem to be worried that they’re dreaming. Earlier, I passed two alphaswho pinched each other and were nodding like ‘See, it’s real.’” I smiled as theguy gave a sweet grin.

“So I wanted to introduce myself and askfor help with Dakota.” Might as well get that out in the open. “I’m Tristan anda few weeks ago I started emailing Dakota. He’d put out an ad for an assistantto help with the business side of his work. From what I understand, witheverything going on he realizes he’s taking up too much of Jonah’s time.”

The omega nodded and seemed to relax as Iconfirmed that I didn’t have any interest in him. “I’m Wade. It’s nice to meetyou.”

“I saw you talking to Dakota earlier and Ifigured anyone who could actually make him relax and smile had to be a goodfriend.”

Wade laughed, nodding. “Guilty as charged.”

Not wanting to get sidetracked, Icontinued. “Well, he got distracted and forgot to respond to my email. I wasplanning on poking him online, but I saw him here today. That seems to havemade him…uncomfortable.”

Wade giggled. “Let me guess. He was a bitflustered after realizing that you know a lot more about him than he’d probablyintended on telling you, and the fact that you’re…very attractive didn’t helpeither.”

“Right on the money.” I sighed and gave himwhat I hoped was a pretty good dejected look. “Help an alpha out? I promised I wouldn’tsue for sexual harassment no matter how many times he ogles me.”

Wade’s smile was beaming. “Please tell meyou’re a Dom and single?”

I laughed. “Yes, and for the sake ofhonesty, I should admit that I’m attracted to distracted, snarky omegas who havedirty minds.”

Laughing, his gaze moved from mine as hestarted searching the room. “He’s probably hiding.”

“Austin dragged him off somewhere. Dakotamade it sound like we would talk about the job later, but I have a feeling he’sgoing to talk himself out of it just because we met here.”

“Quite possibly.” Wade gave me a long, searching look. “But you’re not an asshole? Not pushing to get the job just toplay with his head? You passed the background check, but that can only tell usso much.”

I shook my head. “Not an asshole. Single.Good at my job. Attracted to Dakota.”

And I was willing to take one for the teamand let him practice all his dirty fantasies with me, but I had a feeling Ishouldn’t mention that part. I had no idea who knew about his pen name and whodidn’t.

Slowly nodding, Wade stood. “Alright. Letme see what I can do.”

His finger came up and his gaze narrowed ashe turned back to me. “But fair warning, if anything you told me is a lie, I’mgoing to sic Austin on you. And that should frighten you.”

“It does. And it wasn’t.”

They were the most interesting omegas I’dever met, but luckily, I had a thing for unique and curious.

Chapter 3

Dakota

“You fight dirty.” I glared at Tristan. “Idon’t know if I like that or not.”

He grinned. “You like it.”

Rolling my eyes, I pointed toward the door.“Shoo. I’ll email you later and we’ll set up a meeting.”

He scoffed. “I’m not that dumb. Which worksbetter, Tuesday or Wednesday?”

Sighing, I gave up on insisting I’d emailhim. “Tuesday.”
