I laughed, shaking my head. “No, nothingthat crazy. We’re just getting together with the rest of the guys at the clubto meet some of the possible employees.” I probably should’ve put that word inair quotes because were they really employed if they didn’t get paid?

But since that was what everyone wascalling them, I wasn’t going to buck the trend.

“That’s no fun.” Rowan sighed, drapinghimself dramatically across the couch. “I was hoping for a good night out thatwould let me live vicariously.”

“Sorry to burst your bubble.” Then Igrinned. “But if it helps, we’re meeting a few guys who sound like they mightbe Daddies.”

“Really?” He popped up, all wide eyes andinnocent excitement. “From the party?”

I shook my head. “Most are people thatcouldn’t make it to the party. That’s why they’re doing this get-together. Theywant to see how everyone interacts.”

Which was probably a good thing.

Several were familiar to Silas and Simon, but there were a few they hadn’t met and I wasn’t keen on having just anyone ina position of authority. Thankfully, the rest of the guys agreed.

It helped that the construction crew knewso many people in the lifestyle in the area, but just because they’d datedsomeone a few times and they hadn’t seemed insane didn’t automatically makethem a good candidate for that much control.

I might have been a bit pessimistic, butthere was no way the guys could be there constantly and they were going to needa good crew to help them run it. However, since they were all strong controlfreaks outside of actually subbing, I wasn’t sure how that was going to go.

“That’s going to be so much fun.” He leanedforward so much he almost fell off the couch. “You have to tell me if there’sanyone I should get to know.”

Chuckling, I nodded. “Deal.”

Looking down at my phone, I straightenedand picked it up off the coffee table. “Okay, I have to go.”

He sighed, giving me a pitiful expression.“Fine. Leave me to wonder what exciting things you’re doing.”

“I’m just going to be watching them talk. Ihave no plans on interfering.” That had Rowan laughing.

“You’re incapable of not interfering.”

“That’s ridiculous.” Giving him a snarkylook, I shook my head. “I don’t butt in with his work.”

Rowan shrugged. “But you’re not going tosee this as work. You’re going to look at them as other Doms and subs andyou’ll want to know who’s going to be around your sub.”

Standing, I was trying not to smile. “No,I’m just going for moral support like the rest of the Doms.”

Rowan snorted. “Yeah, keep telling yourselfthat.”

Then he pointed to the coffee table.

“What? A guy isn’t allowed to bring a buddya present sometimes?” Okay, maybe the animal set was too much, but Rowan had athing for animals and it’d been cute.

He laughed. “And a new coloring book andyou even filled up my cup when you thought I needed juice.”

“Is it a crime if I pay attention topeople?” I huffed, playing offended.

His grin never faltered. “No, but thechances of you sitting back quietly are slim to none.”

He knew me too well.

“I’m going to do my best. This is Dakota’sproject and I’m just there for moral support and to show him that I fit in withthe rest of the Doms.” I had a feeling that was what my invitation had reallybeen about.

When the idea for the get-together hadfirst been tossed around, it was supposed to have just been the guys. But overthe past few weeks things had changed and the alphas somehow became invitedtoo.

Part of their logic had been that theywanted to see how the prospective employees related to omegas in charge. Icouldn’t fault that because it was entirely possible one of the Doms might havean issue with it or even one of the subs who might have been picturing moreDoms in control of the club.

But from a few hints that Jonah had droppedlately, I’d gotten the idea that this was about getting to know me more sincewe hadn’t found many opportunities to talk yet. Dakota was such a naturalhomebody that if he didn’t get dragged out once in a while he’d never leave thehouse.
