“Austin and Wade were kind of vague ormaybe they were just really distracting, but I don’t think they said how youguys came up with the idea for the club.” Leaning back, I poked at the remainsof the pie I’d ordered for dessert.
Bradley’s lips quirked in a faint smile.“Too much alcohol.”
Chuckling, I gave a nod. “Yeah, afterseeing you guys on Sunday, I can imagine that.”
He actually laughed that time. “You have noidea. That was us being well-behaved and mostly sober.”
If that had been mostly sober, I couldn’twait for drunk and disorderly.
Thankfully, instead of leaving mequestioning, he leaned back and smiled. “We were hanging out a few months agoand venting about bad dates and how hard it was to find a Dom. Well, Tanner gotan idea that it would be a good way to meet people and it just took off fromthere. At first I wasn’t sure if it was a joke or something and he was spoutingoff just because he was frustrated, but it all just came together.”
“I would have thought Austin was the leadidea person.” Tanner seemed a bit stiff to have come up with it.
“Austin was definitely pushing it and had alot of the knowledge to make it sound like a real possibility. But Tanner hasjust as many crazy ideas; he’s simply better at looking boring.” Bradleycracked another smile as I nodded exaggeratedly.
“It sounds like it’s all coming together,though.” I took a sip of my drink and set it back down. “I’m assuming Russ andGraham are working on the building? Is that how Jonah met them?”
With everything going on the first time I’dmet Jonah and Russ, hearing the story of how they’d come together had been lowon my to-do list. The mental scars of explaining alpha-alpha sex to my motherhad still been fresh at that point.
“Yes, his schedule had the most flexibilitywhen we started, so he agreed to be the point person for the construction.” Iwatched as Bradley paused long enough to lick the last remaining cheesecakecrumbs off his fork. “They hit it off immediately, but Graham was kind of vagueabout his relationship with Russ in the beginning.”
“That must have been an interestingsurprise, then, when Russ popped up.” I wasn’t sure how I would’ve handledthat.
But the whole thing made me realize that Ihadn’t been paying enough attention to what the rest of the family was doing.Graham shouldn’t have been able to hide his relationship with Russ that easily.
Bradley’s grin was wicked. “Evidently Russwas good at making it clear that they both wanted Jonah. He’s really smoothwhen he’s not being insane.”
They were the oddest group.
“This is filling in a lot of the picturefor me. Now I get why Shane was so adamant that he had to get the best, mostprivacy-conscious builders for Tanner. I thought it was just about how head-over-heelshe was for Tanner.” Their odd behavior made a lot more sense now.
